Owner description: Copenhagen's Nyhaven, or "New Harbor," is actually steeped in a long heritage. Colorful buildings line the canal and hint at a history of small-vessel traffic. Like many ports, this strip has a salty history, rich with sailors, drinking and literary exploits. Danish author Hans Christian Andersen made his home in Nyhavn as well. It's cleaned up now and is a lovely place for a stroll.

A must see while in Copenhagen, but only for a short visit. The restaurants and bars are very crowed and overpriced. The canal tour was marginal at best and it was difficult to hear the tour guide because others in the boat were talking. Locals were sunbathing along the canal and obviously drunk. One man stripped naked and posed for the boat before diving into the canal water. Beer vans full of wasted men road around making a lot of noise and causing commotion.

Went on a canal tour starting here and it was a very nice tour that lasted about an hour. Ate in one of the restaurants that had a nice burger. Many restaurants and outdoor cafes here that offered blankets for those that got chilled. Beautiful area that I would highly recommend taking in while in Copenhagen.

Everyone visits this area but well worth it particularly if you get there ahead of the crowds in Summer

It's a must do, however it becomes very crowded during rush hours and the restaurants are what you expect in a touristy area: overpriced, not the best quality and the service is not superb as they know they will have guests anyhow.
