I visited the site, as other visitors pointed out, not much to see, but we had a wonderful guide who told us the history and all the important places on the site. Believe it or not, to this day, they still use the site for lighting the Olympic flame every two years. Also what was pointed out the site where the punished the cheaters, even in those days, athletes used drugs. The ancient stadium still exist, my first thought it would be like the ancient theaters you see around Greece, but it is actually a hill and at the bottom was where the events took place, the audience would usually sat on the hill and the officials will sat on the stones. Does it worth the visit, depends on each individuals. Again it can be very crowed.

To appreciate a visit at Ancient Olympia it's recommended you get a guided tour..the site itself is very plain but filled with history..the feeling you get walking the path of ancient Olympians it's pure euphoria

Nice day in Olympia, we probably should have done a private tour but just took a taxi to sight. So we just followed info given out

The stadium itself is a bit plain. I did not realize there origially were no seats, just a low, sloped hill. I was expecting something more like the stadium at Dephi. But I was not disappointed by walking through the remains of the entry tunnel.
One of my great memories is hearing a roll of thunder while standing next to the remains of the Temple of Zeus.

very nice. wish some of the building were more intact than what we saw, but definitely worth doing.
we did a half day at the site and thought that was enough.
