Excellent hotel with top-notch service.

Legacy Hotel is on the more high-end of the Heraklion hotel spectrum, but with the service and rooms quality it is totally worth it!

There is 24-hour reception; staff always happy to help; the rooms are modern and well-designed. Breakfast is a-la-carte, but you can order as much as you want (orders placed the night before) and all the food is high quality, fresh and delivered to your room at the time you want. If you have to leaver early - they will prep you breakfast packs too!

On the downside, as the hotel is on the main square, it can get loud with the windows open. However, the location allows for a lovely view of the port :)

Overall great experience and would certainly reccommend!

We stayed three nights in this lovely new hotel. We arrived late in the evening and tired after a busy spell at work but the welcome from Ionanna had her team instantly put us in holiday mode. Cool welcome drinks and fruits while we were booked into our lovely suite, a mini studio with comfortable elegant spaces to dine, relax or sleep and a balcony facing the port, where we chose to dine that night. Lovely food and service made it quite an occasion on which to start our visit to Heraklion.
Breakfast too was a Greek culinary experince, we were encouraged to try everything, and possibly did over the three days. The Greek pies were a surprising hit.
The location was great for visiting the museum and the bus to Knossos both of which were wonderful. Just as memorable for us however was the quite exceptional hospitality from the entire Gastro Suites team and if we are luck enough to visit Heraklion again we would stay nowhere else.

We had a wonderful couple of nights at this brand new hotel with its excellent central location. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast, served in the suite, was exceptional. We loved the idea of the fridges full of local wines and foods, and all at very reasonable prices. The room was beautifully decorated and large, and we enjoyed sitting on the balcony and watching the world go by on the square below.

Two of us friends just stayed for 3 nights at Legacy Gastro Suites. It was a great beginning to our Greek holiday!

THE POSITIVES:

REFRESHING WELCOME DRINKS: We were welcomed with perfectly done lemonade as soon as we arrived. After a 20 hour long journey, it was the perfect beginning.

LOCATION: Right in the heart of Heraklion, it’s close by to most places we visited. The shopping district, Lion’s Square, the archeological museum, restaurants, bars, cafes, the bus stop (from where one can get to Knossos too) are all within a short walking distance.

IT’S NEW: So the fittings are fresh and everything functions as it should.

IN-ROOM BREAKFAST SERVICE: You place your breakfast order the night before and it’s served right on time inside your room. We opted to eat out in our balcony, overlooking the port and it was beautiful. The breakfast is delicious too, with great local options and home made fresh bread. Highly recommend trying the local favorite cheeses and other dishes.

STAFF: Kalliroi and Dimitris in particular, and everyone in general, are forthcoming and helpful.

RETURN GIFT: Yes, at the end of our stay, we got a sweet little return gift of thoughtful return souvenirs.

THE NEGATIVES:

SMALL ROOMS, SMALLER BATHROOM: The rooms were much smaller than we expected. The bathroom, even more. The bathroom even has a see-through glass door that we weren’t very comfortable with.

NO SWIMMING POOL: So no relaxing in the property. If you stay here, it’s pretty much for location and convenience. Not to stay in and relax

I would recommend it for its location, staff and convenience. We were out a lot so the small room size didn’t matter as much. It’s one of the newer, nicer properties in Heraklion.
