Saturday morning in Athens and finding a quiet place to do a couple of hours work led to this place. First impressions were good - quiet...

The place was empty, so we pushed two small tables together so we could work side by side.

But this is not allowed. This, according to a shouting man, would be the thin edge of the wedge, the end of civilization. Once one person did it, anyone could.

Bear in mind that it was empty.

This barrage of abuse was before we had even ordered. So we left.

It's a shame. The 'digital nomad' market is a growing and lucrative one, but I wouldn't recommend this venue to anyone looking to spend time or money in Athens.

A cozy and interesting place for coffee or wine in the center of Athens.

Although, it would be perfect if they could expand the food menu and improve the backyard because it looks like unfinished.

Would definitely recommend it to someone else though.

This place was recommended to me by a local as a place to hear some good traditional music, so I went along on Saturday night - the music didn't start until around 11- sat up on a stool, drank 3 ouzos and then free raki and left when the night was over at about 3 in the morning. It is a bookstore/art cafe that does a wonderful job promoting the living arts of Greece; music, literature, painting/drawing, food and philosophy. Very close to Monastiraki Square but well off that well worn path. Rebetika on Saturday night, Assyrian and Greek music on Monday when I was there, is just a sample of what 'Poems n' Crimes' has to offer. Look at their website to see what's next (in Greek).

Calm and relaxed. Feels exclusive. Nice food. 5€ glass of wine 5€ a dish. Would recommend. The atmosphere here is nice and is awesome if you love cats.

A very special place located down town near Athens Acropolis and Old Market as well as the flea market (Monastiraki). It is really a bookstore where you can read any book of their collection (all Greek to me). They serve excellent Coffee and two or three tasty dishes (Beverages too) and excellent wines. You can meet Greek writers and poets in abundance there.
