We joined a tour led by Alex that covered nearly everything we were hoping to see in the city, aside from areas like the Acropolis that require paid entry. Alex was extremely well informed, and you could feel his passion as someone who was raised in the city. After the tour, Alex helped us pick out a great spot for dinner, and even shared his email so we could keep in touch if we had any questions during the rest of our trip. Couldn't have asked for a better way to start our stay in Athens!

Sam is very knowledgeable and thorough in taking us through the city and explaining in detail the history of the gods, greece, and much much more. Definitely would recommend.

This is an excellent initiative. We booked the night before and the communication was fast and efficient. The tour guide was lovely but to be honest it was our first day in Athens and we were still adjusting to the temperatures and I couldn’t concentrate. He introduced us to the main sites and gave tips. And this is where I found out that entry to these sites were completely free for eu students. Was super happy. Keep up this great work. Because we were students we paid 10 Euro’s each to the guide as gesture. I hope it wasn’t offensive

Just finished the free tour with Sam. I would insist to do the tour with her as I did the same tour last year with another guide and it was bland. This time I just stood near Sam (she’s the trendy lady with bracelets and lots of energy) you will spot her instantly. She showed us around with loads of info and kept her energy up till the very last minute. It was very very interesting. Would highly recommend.

We met at the Hadrian's arch and after a few minutes we were assigned to a group. Please note that there are more than one tour and a lot of people to organise, but it was done relatively quickly. Our guide was Jonathon who quickly started to give us information about where the tour would take us and led the way to the first site.
For info, the booking indicates the tour lasts for 2.5hrs, we were with Jonathon for 4hrs! So loads of info and sightseeing potentially for free! As well as covering the sites and the history behind it all, Jonathon gave us an insight on current affairs, politics, religion, urban legends, tourism, bars, restaurants, etc so loads of great info and some very useful tips.
The trip does not include going inside the sites or going up the acropolis but if you want to spend more time at a particular site by going inside it, you can do that straight after this tour, so all the history is your mind. I would recommend doing the tour first and then the sites, e.g. acropolis.
So if you are in Athens for a few days or longer, it doesn't matter do this tour as you'll learn loads that you won't get to learn by walking yourself.
