2nd only to the Parthenon this is a great highlight of the acropolis. The slender ionic architecture, the Caryatids and the beautiful conferring under the porch to the Poseidon temple make this a must see.

What an amazing site, the details on the rock are so real, this is one of my favorite site in Athens just in front of the Acropolis, just a moment in heaven when you’re in the middle of this historic sites !!

The history of Greece can be overwhelming. You have to decide what you want to do and stick with your agenda! or you will end up standing in one place, completely enthralled by the art and history.

The beauty of this temple goes without saying but it is unfortunate that getting close enough to really appreciate the structure was not possible due to the fencing placed around the building. Taking a picture of the place may be a challenge unless you have zoom lens capabilities.

The Erechtheion temple is located atop the Acropolis hill and is the second largest temple. It is a beautiful temple which has been very well preserved. This temple free of charge as it is part of the Acropolis ticket and allows you walk around the temple freely admiring the fantastic exterior. This temple is simply breathtaking as its not covered with scaffolds of cranes, leaving it fully visible in all its glory. Definitely have a stroll around the exterior to see the beautiful structure and columns.
