The restaurant is hard to find, but while we waited outside for our friends, Amanda, our excellent hostess, brought us a glass of champagne! Amanda really knew her wine and recommended perfect pairings that were interesting and unusual. We were there for the Refugee Food Festival, and the food prepared by a relatively young and inexperienced Moroccan refugee guest chef was exquisite! So very impressed! One of us was vegetarian, and that meal was also fantastic (goat cheese fluff with warm beetroot! mushroom risotto!)

An all-around amazing experience: from the moment we came to Scala Vinoteca and received a warm welcome, we knew that the service would be exquisite. Indeed, the waiters respond to any question you may have concerning the menu and the sommelier does a great job in assisting you with the wine selection.
Concerning the food, one can immediately tell the research that has been invested in each of the dishes. The flavors are truly amazing and are only exacerbated by the wine you simultaneously drink. To end on a high note, the desserts are among the best I have eaten and could potentially rival top-shelf french patisserie.

The restaurant is located in a quiet (in the evening at least) and hilly neighborhood. Its entrance is sort of hidden from street view. So it's not the easiest to find. A kind street vendor near the building saw us looking around and said "Scala?". We nodded and he pointed us to go up several steps. After a short flight of stairs, we found the entrance to our left.

We had our best meal in Athens there. It's a lovely little restaurant with the right ambiance - relaxing and not formal. We'd walked for miles that day and appreciated a great meal without having to dress up. Service was really good with a special nod to Amanda. She's simply excellent! She welcomed us warmly and later we placed our food order with another wait staff. She came back and found out what we'd ordered and helped us cancel an appetizer as it would have been too much for us. Got good advice from her on wine also. Food was delicious and nicely plated/presented. They're fairly priced for their quality and offerings. It was a very enjoyable evening for us.

We happened upon Scala by accident and have to say we were MORE than impressed. Hidden on to the left of a set of stairs, the venue is intimate and incredibly friendly. The wine list is amazing and the food was DIVINE. Do yourself a favour and check it out!

One of the best restaurant i went to from about a year . A warm welcome, the products are well explained and they are even highly generous, offering to try items that are on the menu.
The guinea fowl main dish was a pure delight. Not to be missed.
I will definitely try another dish at my return visit.
Price is a bit above average but this is logical and again is acceptable .
One last thing: they are part of the refugee food festival program; plenty of taste ...and humanity!
A perfect ten.
