We only spent one night here between transfers, but we enjoyed the stay. Kolonaki, the neighborhood in which it is situated, is very trendy (think: New York's SoHo or 5th Avenue in Midtown, but cleaner and less crowded). Previously in Athens, we stayed near the Syntagma/Plaka/Monastiraki area, so this was a nice change. We ventured out to Kolonaki Square (a 8-10 minute walk away from the hotel) at around 9 or 10 p.m., and the area felt extremely safe.
The hotel is a very typical boutique hotel--the reception and rooms are very cozy, but everything was very clean and well-decorated (it's submarine-themed, hence the name). The bathroom and bedroom were spotless, and amenities like robes and slippers were even provided (they somehow also seemed to know our shoe sizes too). The breakfast, which was served in the cafe adjacent to the reception, was unexpectedly generous, varied and delicious.
The check-in/out process was very smooth, and the hotel was conveniently located near a metro station, so it was easy for us to get back to the airport. I would stay here again on my next trip to Athens.More
