We are a married couple in our mid-sixties. We found this studio through Grenadine Villas.
We first rented it for about 10 days in late March 2014. We enjoyed our stay so much that we returned at the end of November for another 11 days..
This is an ideal spot for couples that want to "get away from it all". The property is situated in the quiet Industry Bay sector on the eastern side of Bequia, perched slightly above the main road (a single lane)..The location is roughly 250 meters to an empty 500 meter long beach on the Atlantic, 70 meters to the Sugar Reef Restaurant on the beach, 1200 meters (15 minute walk) to the Firefly restaurant. Elizabethtown, the main town on the island, is about a 35 minute walk on the other side of the island.
The studio is attached to a larger and quite beautiful house which overlooks the Atlantic and the islands of Balliceaux and Mustique, amongst others. Directly in front of the main house.there is a marvelous infinity pool where my wife spends a lot of her time. While relaxing in the pool one can see the ocean and the islands on your left and the hills with the occasional house on your right,
The studio is completely open. It contains a small kitchen area with a cook-top stove, a microwave oven, a toaster oven and a small fridge. There is a round kitchen table with 4 chairs, but you will undoubtedly eat outside on the beautiful terrace next to the pool. There is a TV area in front of the queen-size bed. The bed is next to 4 glass French doors that overlook the pool, with the ocean and the islands in the distance. A beautiful view to wake up to!
The warm and friendly service is ably headed by the lovely Abbie, assisted by Barbara. The house is immaculate..Abbie's husband, Richard, picks you up at the pier or he airport, takes you into town to buy the provisions and delivers you to the house without any problems. The gardens on the property contain a wide variety of local plants and are beautifully maintained by the courteous gardener.
Staying here makes one feel as though one is part of the "rich and famous".
My only reserve - alas, there must be a reserve - is the at the wi-fi internet is very weak and intermittent. But by saying that, it shows how far I had to search for a flaw in this spectacular property.
In November we found that it was quite humid and there were ravenous sandfies that we did not remember from March. This has nothing to do with the property. These sandflies are the most dangerous animals that you will find on the island.
