“Superb House in Authentic Spanish Village”
Reviewed 17 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Although we have visited the Axarquia area of Spain a few times, this was our first visit to Canillas, and what a lovely, unspoilt village it is. Although small we found numerous bars to stop and enjoy a coffee or beer as we explored its narrow streets. There are at least four excellent restaurants too, and although few people we met spoke any English, we received a warm welcome. I would heartily recommend trying the specialities chivo al horno (goat), and morcilla (black pudding) in La Sociedad. Another treat was churros, freshly made by Moses in Angel’s Bar on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Susanne made the process of booking stress free, and she provided a wealth of information about both the house and the surrounding area prior to our trip. The parking camera is a marvellous idea, and even when the spaces next to the house were taken we had no difficulty getting a space in the nearby small carpark.
Casa Convento is stunning, it’s decorated and equipped to a very high standard, but at the same time comfortable and practical, and it took no time for us to feel at home. It seems every detail has been thought of and we wanted for nothing. We stayed in October and the weather was unusually warm, we did get some use of the gorgeous pool, but it was rather bracing at this time of year as you would expect. The internet connection was reliable and allowed us to keep in touch with home, and the super comfy beds and black out curtains meant that we slept extremely well. We have returned home refreshed relaxed and already thinking about booking our next visit to Canillas, and we would have no hesitation in returning to Casa Convento if it’s available.

“Breathtaking views from a wonderful house”
Reviewed 28 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

The Casa is equipped to a far higher standard than other, more expensive, houses at which we have stayed. Staying there is a joy and the dining terrace at sunset is just spectacular. The two bedrooms are really large, the kitchen is very well equipped and everything from the roof terrace to the pool area are magical.

“Beautiful property in an enchanting village”
Reviewed 10 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We have visited many villas over the years and I have to say this was an outstanding property. It had every amenity you could wish for and more! The property is situated at the top of the beautiful village of Canillas de Aceituno. The village itself is full of super friendly locals and our 'neighbour' kindly gave us grapes from his vine for our travel home. We wanted a relaxing break from city life and the village offered us the perfect retreat. We thoroughly recommend both the property and the location and would love to return one day.

“Fantastic Holiday House”
Reviewed 1 August 2015 for a stay in July 2015

This is a truly remarkable Holiday house, set in a traditional Spanish Village with many amenities, the house is accessed by a steep narrow road which is easy to navigate once you have found it. The house has a spectacular vista and position over looking the village, valley, lake and mountains. Top quality fittings through out the house, the standard of the house is 100%. Very comfortable in all the rooms and a modern appointed kitchen with every thing and more that you might need. Excellent wi-fi, English tv, air conditioning at a very modest price. Really lovely heated pool. The owner offers every possible detail and is both helpful and efficient. There was nothing out of place and if you did require any assistance there is an English couple who look after the property two doors away. They also are really friendly and very helpful what ever time, day or night. We had a really memorable holiday, great places to eat and visit. I can not recommend this house highly enough. Its an absolute gem !

“Excellent Villa”
Reviewed 19 July 2015 for a stay in June 2015

We stayed in this villa in June 2015 and fell in love with both the villa and village straight away. Don't be alarmed by the journey upto the village it is worth it once you are there.
There is everything in the villa you require from cd's, games, books and a well stocked kitchen with all spices and extras you need.
The pool is fantastic and spent many hours just lazing in the lovely water..
Excellent restaurants in the village with plenty of choice.

Go and enjoy!!!
