My partner & I stayed in the second floor apartment and were greeted warmly on our late night arrival with stunning views from the balcony and a spotless, stylish apartment. Porto is fantastic! Friendly people, so much to see and do! We recommend walking the length of the river from apartment to coast, taking funicular up the hill, walk over bridge, cable car down to port lodges. If budget stretches, go in helicopter over river and cities(hire on walk to coast). Visit Grahams lodge up the hill for a tour and tasting, book lunch, you'll love it!!!
Can't say enough about what a great time we had in Porto! The apartment was spotless, spacious and in a prime location. Monica is a fantastic host and has a wealth of knowledge about places to see and eat, tours, etc. Highly recommended!
The apartment is large, well equipped and scrupulously cleaned / maintained. It is conveniently situated within the old town with all places of interest within walking distance and has fabulous views over the Douro to Gaia. Patricia made the booking and arrival arrangements very easy. These included arranging for a taxi from the airport. On arrival we were met by Monica who gave us a detailed tour of the accommodation and so much information about Porto and the surrounding area that we were spoilt for choice about where to go, what to see and where to eat. They are genuinely interested in you enjoying your time in Porto.
We thoroughly recommend Top Flat to which we would definitely return.

We stayed in the 1 bed flat on the top floor for a short break in Porto and it was absolutely wonderful. The flat is well laid out, and with two of us, was very spacious with a living/kitchen area facing out on to the river, and a separate double bedroom and adjacent shower room. There is a small balcony area with a table and chairs – ideal for a relaxing drink watching the sun go down over the Douro and the signs coming on at the port lodges on the opposite bank. We brought back lots of goodies one day and enjoyed a sunny lunch sitting there.
Nothing was too much trouble for Patricia and Monica. They were happy to accommodate an early check-in as our flight landed at around 10 in the morning, and arranged a taxi to collect us from the airport and take us straight to the flat, and our return as well. Monica was there to greet us and spent so much time describing the layout of the city and giving us lots of “local” tips for places to visit, restaurants and bars, and how to get around (on foot!). This included the restaurants O Caracas and Traca in Porto; Dom Peixe out on the coast at Matosinhos (used the vintage tram and bus to get there) where we had a great lunch – fresh sardines on the barbecue and red wine; not forgetting Nata for the custard tarts.
At first the road outside seems quite steep but after a day it doesn’t seem so steep. There is a small local bar with outside tables overlooking Virtudes Municipal Gardens just up the street; also nearby the “7 Wonders” on Rua de Taipas and in Largo de Sao Domingos (the square at the bottom of Flores) the Buffete San Domingo serves huge gin and tonics and glasses of wine, for not a lot of money – also great for people watching.
We loved out first time in Porto and would definitely return, and definitely stay at Top Flat too.
It was one of the best stay for me.We stayed at top floor, flat with balcony. The view is amazing. You are in the heart of the old Porto. We could walk everywhere.Hotel management is incredible. They helped us for eveything( best local restaurant Reservations, finding rare douro wines,to do list etc). Thanks Monica and Patricia again again.
