The post-booking / pre-trip communications from the ORM representatives were prompt, clear and cordial and we were allowed to drop our bags a little earlier than the official check-in time. Bruno - who met us at the apartment - was helpful and friendly and recommended some good places to eat. For two people, the apartment was perfectly spacious with a good amount of natural light entering the combined living room / kitchen area and one of the bedrooms. The shower output was excellent and all of the basic amenities we needed for a short trip were there. The Metro journey from the airport was easy and the apartment was just a couple of minutes' walk from Sao Bento Metro / train station, even closer to the striking cathedral and similarly close to the Luis I bridge. The location was excellent.
Porto was relatively quiet [socially speaking] as we stayed on Monday and Tuesday evenings but it's a city with real character, some attractive architecture and the scope to explore most places of interest on foot, subject to you being comfortable with the steep hills. I think that the single thing I will remember most from Porto is the warmth of the people, from the helpful staff at the Metro station to the friendly bar / café / restaurant workers to Joan our wonderful SideRide sidecar driver [do try this company if you have time for a sidecar tour] and the ORM team. Porto is a clean, interesting, safe and welcoming city and the ORM Se apartment is perfectly located to help you make the most of the city.
