Once again Rui, Rute and Luis thanks for welcoming us into your villa. We feel like we're back with a branch of our family -no fuss, warm embrace -flawless. And the view down on most of Sintra from the ginormous private terrace garden is as good as you'd get in a 5* resort.
After 5 visits to Hotel Nova Sintra from Queensland, Australia we were running out of Palacios, jardims and museus but a guy called Martin Sirovs saved the day with his 'Walks in the Countryside' (A Pe pela Paisagem), his meticulous 1:15,000 scale 'Walker's Map of the Cascais-Sintra Area' and the plant books he's published

Room Tip: Some rooms on 2 upper levels have stupendous views across Sintra

Our 3 day stay in Sintra was spectacular, in large part to our staying at the Hotel Nova Sintra. Bernardo was a gracious and very helpful host. The hotel is spotless, roomy and very well-maintained. The breakfasts (included) were the best we had in our travels to Spain and Portugal. We can not give enough superlatives to this hotel.

Room Tip: I would recommend the room with a terrace

Beautiful Hotel in a fantastic location. Owner goes out of his way to make you feel comfortable. Stored our bags when we arrived and had them in our rooms when we came back. Gave good local recommendations for dinner and best way to see all the sites. Free parking and good European breakfast.

Set within a lovely garden in the centre of Sintra, this B&B has a great location and is highly recommended. Plus it has car parking spaces. Only downside, it can be quite difficult to find the first time you visit.

We had four nights as part of an Explore self guided walking trip. Rui our host was brilliant - nothing was too much trouble - he sourced gluten free bread for breakfast
for me (as coeliac) although I had been told by Explore that all hotels on our trip would have it and it wouldn't be a problem - Rui was upset that he wasn't able to provide this for my first breakfast and very kindly phoned ahead to our next hotel to ensure gf bread would be available.
We enjoyed being able to have a drink outside on the huge terrace. Hotel was clean and breakfast lovely. Thanks Rui!

Room Tip: We were up on the second floor - very quiet and a lovely room.
