This is the main street in town, cobblestone and consistent on colors. It truly is a tourist village. Enjoy the stroll, enjoy the trinkets along the way and enjoy the sunshine.

Rua Direita runs from the portal gate into the village at one end to the castle at the other end. Lined with quaint shops and cafes it is the attraction most visited after walking the wall or visiting the church. Not too crowded when I visited but I'm sure it would feel a little claustrophobic with more tourists in the height of summer.

I loved Obidos! It is a charming place to spend time with your friends and family. We were there just few hours, but I would love to come back and to stay much longer! There are still so many places to visit over there!

Rua Direita is a gorgeous cobblestone Street which leads directly to the castle . The street is full of tourist shops, cafes & restaurants. However it’s extremely busy due to all the tourist buses arriving from all over . It’s better to stay overnight & enjoy the village at night when everyone has departed.

You can do a loop through Obidos on the high road Rua Direita (busier) or the low road. There are many shops and cafes lining the walk. If you bought Ginja in a chocolate cup every time you passed a shop selling it you would not be able to walk the full length of the street. Seems like everyone was selling Ginja in chocolate. There were many tourist type shops and some really good quality gourmet shops to buy local products, olive oil etc. There are spots to climb onto the town wall at both ends of this street.
