If was a perfect secluded getaway in the heart of the city. The room was great and the breakfast was delicious! We stayed in the duque Lisbon suite. It was very spacious. That is a rare find in Europe! Highly recommend!
My wife and I stayed for two nights but wanted to stay longer. We were met by friendly helpful staff, taken to our spacious room with a terrace over looking the city, just amazing. A superb continental breakfast is delivered to the room at the time you nominate. The hotel is near the end of a narrow no vehicle exit street so is very quiet. Within three minutes walk there are six small restaurants, all with outside tables, open for lunch and close late evening. A supermarket is a short distance away. The Black Horse Square and waterfront are about 20-25 minutes walk. We were so pleased that this hotel was recommended to us.
My husband and I stayed for more than a week in August and were really won over by Casa Balthazar's personality, service and location. We give it an A all around. Our suite with views of the castle and square felt like a home. It was adequately furnished and equipped for a comfortable extended stay. The pool was certainly one of our decision points and we did NOT regret it ! One of the highpoints of our vacation was cooling off in the pool after many hours walking around in the summer heat. This charming property is unmistakably stylish and genteel. The welcome wine, the daily breakfast from the local bakery brought warm, freshly squeezed OJ all brought in a tray with white linens, cake and refreshments in the parlor daily, were such nice touches. A beautiful property with history, with very well-maintained grounds and rooms decorated with easy elegance. It all just felt very inviting. The housekeeping staff were pleasant and professional, and the Front desk was certainly most helpful. Casa Balthazar is special.
This was my first visit to Portugal and Casa Balthazar did not disappoint. The room was stunning with amazing views from the window. The staff was so helpful and not fazed at all by our million questions! The breakfast was outstanding!!! I posted it on Facebook daily, to make everyone at home jealous.
The amenities in the room were great-tea, a coffee machine, a free bottle of delicious wine!
Subin (I may not have spelled it right) was fantastic! He even fixed my suitcase, after it had a difficult journey out!!
There was a WiFi problem, but we moved rooms as soon as there was a free one. Nothing was a problem here. It is in the centre of town, so great access to everything.
I would get on a plane and go straight back there right now-LOVED it.
I stayed for 3 nights in Casa Balthazar and it was just perfect. The location is great, rooms, service and view from the room outstanding.
I can only recommend this unique spot.
The breakfast came every morning into the room, so you could sit on your on rooftop terrasse and having breakfast whilst looking over Lissabon. Always a relaxing start for a day...
5 star experience from start to finish. Staff is incredibly helpful and nice. They assisted us in every experience and the suit was sparkling clean with an amazing view. Beautiful location and primly situation in all the action
