We used the hop on/off bus to get to this site. The monument itself is really beautiful and detailed- great for pictures, fascinating to look at and the sea views are amazing. It costs about 5 Euros to go to the top (overpriced and not really worth it).

Avoid the Belem tower except for the outside. This is better with carvings on both sides and a chance to go to the top (by lift athough there are 627 steps as well)
Seniors 1/2 price

I didn't actually get to walk up to the monument as i was across the bay from it however i could clearly see the detail of the workmanship in the design and was very impressed from it. Worth a see if your in the area seeing something else (such as the tower of Belem which is very close by within walking distance)

Nice feature has a view point, which costs €5 each to go up. Get a fairly good view of Bellem but as always, full of the normal tourist trap stuff.

Let`s be honest here. It`s not a monument of explorers. It`s a monument dedicated do all queues and waiting that you have to survive before you get to any other Lisboa attraction.
