This is a magnificent and gorgeous arch, located next to Comercio square.
This time around, it was basically the entrance to the Eurovillage during the Eurovision Song Contest.

We visited the Rua Augusta Arch in June 2018 after a day of exploring some of the busy streets in Lisbon. We initially attempted to go up the Santa Justa Lift but the queue was over an hour waiting time long, so we decided to rather go up the Rua Augusta Arch and what a treat it was! It was so so much less crowded and we had an amazing view over the busy streets and the square down below. My boyfriend and I shared some Pastei de Natas from Pauls Patisserie and enjoyed the view for a good 30 minutes. Well worth the 3 euro that we paid.

You cant miss this huge monument on Commercio Square. It is very imposing in an enormous square. Lovely to spend some time in the area.

My wife and I recently visited Lisbon, Portugal and spent a number of days visiting as many of the sights and attractions as we could. The Arco de Triunfo and the Praca do Comercio were about a 20 minute walk from our hotel.

The Arch, is a beautiful and stunning piece of architecture that has a commanding view of the plaza, the waterfront and the street that leads up to Rossio Square. While we did not go up to the top of it, (I did not know that you could ), it is another enjoyable and photographic historic attraction in a city filled with lots of historical attractions.

The Arco do Triunfo is another attraction in Lisbon that should not be missed.

A beautiful structure that opens out in to the main square on the river. Great for photo shoots. Well worth seeing.
