Owner description: Do you want to make a tour in Lisbon? Said to be built on 7 hills, Lisbon is an amphitheatre that looks down onto the Tagus, the river it has always depended on. There's history oozing out of its romantic avenues, old Moorish quarters, Roman underpinnings and Manueline, Baroque and Gothic monuments, off-set by some of the boldest modern buildings by local and international architects. This is a cosmopolitan centre of commerce that will appeal to your senses and to your gourmet instincts. It is a palette of colors where the sun shines the whole year round (almost!).

I haven't been on many off these type of things but this one was not that great, the information guide that you put the headphones in was not working on the first 6 seats that we tried, we eventually 2 seats that worked and then it was fine till we got to the stop we wanted. When we wanted to go back we had the same problem again finding a connection that worked, with less seats to choose from. But driver on the way back was a bit weird on trying to follow some strict rule book that he was given, he wouldn't let a guy with a pram get on in the double doors in the middle, saying he had to get on from the front. They argued a bit and he heald up a lot of traffic behind him while they argued about it.
Near the end of the journey we were stuck in a traffic jam and the bus almost didn't move for about 10 minutes, this was of course not the driver's fault, but when we asked if we could just get off here and walk he said no (the bus was just standing still, literally hadn't moved in 10 minutes) 5 minutes later someone came up to the bus to tell the driver to do something to get out of the jam, he opened the door and let him on to talk with him. So we seen the opening and made a run for it, he tried to stop us ( for whatever reason only he will know) but we just ignored him and left.

There are mixed reviews on this but we found it wonderful. Well worth it and our ticket was valid on the fenicular and also the trams. We did the Tagus line - great!

We bought 48 hour tickets which we felt were good value.
Used it for two bus tours one to Belem and the other to the Vasco da Gama centre; also used the tickets on a number of occasions for the elevator trams. NO problems at all with the hop on/hop off facility.
Helpful staff at the terminus area who advised which bus to get on to go where - denoted by coloured cards to left of windscreen. Audio commentary was pretty good and linked to where the bus was. Only problem we had was none functioning audio sockets a couple of times and we were unable to move seats as the bus was full. Better on the newer buses.
