It is very nice and cozy hotel with excellent breakfast. It has everything to choose it for staying in Lisbon during holidays (we stayed 4 times there). But, their attitude to the regular guests is very strange. There is a loyalty program with club card, but it is almost impossible to use most benefits of it. Communication with personnel is very difficult. First, we have managed to get the card in hands after 3 years (!) after registration in the program and multiple reminders. And we still got only one card in spite both me and my husband is registered. Second, it is so difficult to realize bonus points. One cannot find a personal points status anywhere at the hotel web site, a special inquiry by e-mail or on hotels reception has to be made. Even if you know how many points you have a trial to exchange them to, say, free night will lead to endless correspondence with personnel which replies after several reminders only. Till now we have not succeeded. They must learn how it works in other hotels chains. We are trying to make a new booking and use our points just now, but we can not get a reply from personnel since several days. So, we will have to book another hotel

Dear Madam,

We would like to thank you for your preference and for allowing us to know your thoughts about our services. Your comments deserved our best attention and we tried our best, in order to understand, internally, what went wrong. We know that our DP Club card has been sent, by post, to your address but, for some reason we now can't precise, the envelope was returned some weeks later.

There should be no difficulty to send you information on your points or even redeem them. This usually works very well, with our Dom Pedro Club members. We are sorry for any inconvenience you experienced and we would like to assure you that we will be much pleased to assist you, on this matter. For further requests, we kindly ask you to have your comments directly to our email palace.pr@dompedro.com.

Hoping we can hear from you, soon and again,

Kindest regards
Paulo Mesquita

Very good hotel of its period c.c. 2000 nicely furnished, big room, very comfy large bed and full bathroom , aircon worked well thankfully as we had unseasonably high temps of 34 plus. The 3rd floor restaurant does decent food nicely served although we went to restaurants in the shopping centre opposite for Portuguese type food. Plenty of fast food there as well if you want. Took us a while to sort out the bus connections to town from actoss the road it would have helped if we could have got a bus map but it good to be away from the crowds and the heat.
buses are fast.
One thing that could be improved is the old school breakfast offer. Lovely fruit but not enough healthy options. Need boiled and poached eggs please and some grilled items like tomatoes and mushrooms. Their scrambled egg was watery. Fried eggs no thanks. At least the usual Portuguese cake offering was small servings! Jam was tasteless, compote and plain yogurt would be good as well as more seeds, nuts and oats. All staff very helpful. Enjoyed the visit.

High up over the city with gorgeous views all the way down to the water. There's a huge shopping center within a block with multi-screen movies, most of them in English! Amenities, decor and staff all top quality. It's only a short cab ride down to the waterfront or city center...well worth it to sleep in this quieter neighborhood.

The hotel is clean, the stay was nice and the breakfast quite nice too. I found the price of the hotel too high though. The gym is quite poor for a hotel with the starts it has, so I strongly suggest youn invest in the gym. The decoration of the rooms and the halls are 1970s style, which is a style I personally dont like, but this is just a matter of taste. The hotel has a nice Spa, lots of meeting rooms facilities. You have iron and mini bar in the room. The front desk and the Personnel excellent.

We did a 2 week vacation in Portugal and southern Spain, starting and ending in Lisbon. We spent 3 nights in the Dom Pedro at the start, and spent out last night there prior to departing.

First hint; the Lisbon tourism site recommends going to the tourist desk in the airport and paying for a taxi voucher there to get you to your hotel. Don't do it. We paid 23 euros. As it turns out, a cab ride is about 12.

The Dom Pedro isn't centrally located in Lisbon. This is a good thing and a bad thing. It's good if you like to walk, not so good if you like being in the thick of things. I worked well for us. Lisbon has an amazing public transportation system, which was easy to use even for country-folk like us. There is a trolley and bus stop just outside of the hotel. Get a card for half a Euro, load 10 Euros on it, and you are good for buses, trolleys, the metro and trains. There is an indoor mall within a few minute's walk of the hotel, where we could get groceries and such.

Check in was painless, the desk clerks spoke excellent English. We arrived a bit prior to check in, and actually weren't able to get our rooms until about half an hour after check in for some reason, but there's a nice sitting area and bar. We were beat from flying, but it was fine just having a beer. The rooms are classically appointed, but large, and comfortable. Fantastic showers (I love good water pressure). There is a terrace restaurant. It was too breezy to eat outside, but it was nice to have lunch overlooking the city and river. Don't miss the bolognese. Breakfast was rather pricey, and as I don't eat much, I didn't bother, but my wife quite enjoyed it. I had yogurt from the grocery store. The rooms have mini-fridges but they are packed. I was able to fit a couple yogurts in.

We found the staff to be very pleasant, the hotel was quiet and well appointed, and the beds were great. If you don't need to be in the thick of things, this is the place to stay in Lisbon.

Room Tip: Get a river view room. There is construction going on out the other side, and it isn't much to look at.
