This was a place to visit, but after traveling two weeks, we are presented with a horde of tourist shops, we are turned off. The streets are narrow and paved with stones that can be slick. There are interesting structures and parks that amaze

Lucky to be there June 12 when the entire city comes to Alfama for a night party. It is the real thing, not for tourists only. You enjoy the locals, music, sardines(what's new) and the natural party soul of the Portuguese.

We stayed in Lissabon Alfama for 3 nights and it was a good Base for exploring the city. Very cosy with narrow streets, good restaurants and close to tram 28 and the castle. Not to far away from the metro and other places we wanted to visit.

Stayed here one night with a friend. Very hilly, lots of steps, but super unique and fun! Not the cleanest of the neighborhoods, but neighbors were friendly.

This is an old city, deserving of some time to walk through and admire the architecture and the colors. Very romantic.
