Owner description: This elevator is located inside a gothic tower, which provides quick and easy transport between Lisbon's Baixa and Bairro Alto districts.

With all the exciting things to do in Lisbon, waiting in a crazy line to go on a tiny elevator that lasts a minute is not an efficient use of energy or time. Walk around the block and go on top. There are multiple lookout points in the city; this was is nice, but certainly not mandatory.

We queued for an hour because we didn't want to walk up the hill and stairs to get to the top. When the sign says expected queuing time 1 hour, it means it. The staff didn't even fill up the lift and when we got to the top, he was just chilling and leaving the lift empty which was why it took so long. When we decided to leave, it literally took us less than 5 minutes to take the stairs and lift which goes down to street level. Luckily, we had a day pass which meant that we didn't have to pay for the lift but we literally wasted an hour for the queue. The view was better when we were taking the stairs down to be honest.

We tool the lift down from Chiado to Baixa It was great cause we were tired. We had triedvto take it up from baixa but its always v crieded. The view on top is good but not the best at all. There are many miradauros in lisboa that offer better views.

We also paid 5 euros each just for this ride.
The lift itself is special and very particular.

Personally didn’t go up the lift to the viewing platform due to the massive queue. you can still access the viewing platform by going up a small standard lift in a shop in the row of shops behind and then follow the stairs up. Once at the top you can access the viewing platform for €1.50 pp. excellent views of Lisbon all round.

Nice to visit if you do not have to stay there in the lane for more than an hour. I was lucky that I lined up for just 30 minutes and the weather was really nice.

Once you go up, you have a good view from up and “inside” the city. Then, you can come downstairs and have some other angles to take more pics.
