This was worth the effort to get to. Make sure you know where the elevators are as it would be a very long climb from the central part of Lisbon. We saw lots of tuk tuks making the trip if you prefer that. One you get off the second elevator there is still a bit of a climb to get here. There is a cafe and plenty of interesting nooks in the castle to explore.

This provides a slice of history starting in the 11th century onward to today. Plan on taking the trolley or bus up here, you can the always walk down. The views are the thing here among the historical structures. There is a small exhibition space along with some restaurants. The neighborhood is interesting

The castle is actually not a castle but some beautiful walls in ruins. Look at the fantastic pictures and views you could get from there. The queue is quite long at every time of the day but for those marvellous views it’s ok. Don’t hope to see a castle because you definitely won’t but the place is beautiful.
