The apartment is just as it is advertised. It is very spacious and in a lovely neighborhood not far from Lisbon. The sea view is beautiful . The owner , Anabela could not be more helpful. We really appreciated the time she took to show us things and yo tell us useful travel tips, as well as the lovely welcome gifts she left us. If you are driving the apartment is easy to find and your park is right outside the front door. If you travel by train that is equally handy with the train to Cascais, Belem , and Lisbon a minute or two away. There is a small but useful supermarket right behind the house and several restaurants nearby. The apartment was very clean and comfortable and has every possible amenity you could want. It's a real home away from home. Thanks Anabela.
Wonderful views. 4 minutes from the coastal Metro station which has a 20 minutes service to Lisbon and Cascais. Well furnished and well decorated apartment. Very friendly and helpful owner. We highly recommend this apartment.
Nice , small beach across the road with bar/cafe and restaurant. Sao Pedro is a charming village with several good restaurants. Small food store 2 minutes away.
.Only failing of the apartment was that the showers need up-dating. Maybe because we're Australian and access to a good shower is part of our D.N.A.
Word of advice if you are travelling with large baggage and approach Sao Pedro by train. Take the eastern end exit from the platform because it has a lift. The western end closest to the apartment has 70 steps to negotiate.
This is a charming apartment in Sao Pedro do Estoril. The property is ideally located with the village's railway station (and main rail line between Cascais and Lisbon Cais do Sodre) being a five minute walk away. There is a small supermarket at the back of the property and there's a highly recommended fish restaurant underneath the building.
The apartment itself has a fantastic coastal view where we often watched the surfers catching the waves on a morning or early evening. There is everything you could possibly need in the apartment. The kind hostess left some essentials for us to get us started off on our stay.
The apartment's owner, Anabela, was such a lovely lady and so helpful. She even offered to pick us up from our hotel near Lisbon Airport and take us on a little sightseeing tour of Lisbon on the way to the apartment. She's such a knowledgeable lady and we found this a really great start to our holiday from such a warm and caring person. She also sent us messages during our stay to check we were OK and also phoned the water company when the water pressure dropped to find out what had happened (it was only routine water works in the area and the water was fine later that day).
We had a great week and did a lot of walking between the apartment and Estoril or Cascais (although the train stops in both those towns). Estoril had some great seafront restaurants and Cascais was just the loveliest town. Do try the white port whilst you're in Portugal - not just the usual ruby or tawny ports! All the restaurants we went to were great. Fantastic fresh fish and lots of meat options too.
We also went to Sintra and Belem during our stay. I think I've only ever been to the top of the palacio de pena in Sintra when it's sunny once! This time, like the last time was cold and misty - although it is very high above sea level in a micro-climate! Belem was 25 mins on the train and highly recommended for a visit with the Jeronimos Monastery, the monument to the Discoveries, the Belem Tower and the famous Pastel de Nata shop and cafe. The cafe was fantastic and much bigger than I had remembered. I really think that you can't have too many pastel de nata custard tarts during your stay in Portugal. I think I might have eaten at least 15 during the week!
All in all, this was a fantastic holiday which was made so much better by having a wonderful apartment to stay in. We will definitely be back! Thank you Anabela!
The apartment was clean, spacious and comfortable. It was a bonus having 2 bathrooms. The area is quiet with lovely coastal walks and the train service is reliable and cheap. The kitchen is well equipped.
Anabela was very helpful with train and metro information and could not do enough for us.
She was also a fount of information about Portuguese history and culture. She speaks excellent English .
