Great gym, I think it was the best gym in any hotel I had been in during my 3 week Portugal tour! I do love a good gym.
It’s a good hotel, it does everything it says on the tin. The breakfast was vast, the spa was very relaxing and a pleasure to visit. The rooms were clean and comfortable, a little corporate in a way, but I have no complaints at all.
If you are visiting Aveiro for a couple of days, or however long I think this is a decent place to stay. Just make sure that you go to costa nova beach when you are there, it’s beautiful!

I am staying here each time when I am in Aveiro. The service is very friendly, so checking in and out runs smoothly. Rooms are well sized, usually quiet and clean. The breakfast offers a great selection of food.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Melia Ria Aveiro. This is a lovely hotel and amounts to good value for money: as another recent reviewer puts it, “a gem in a cube” indeed! I had a superior corner room which was spacious, well-appointed, quiet, and comfortable. Superbly (and noticeably) clean throughout. The location is convenient with most places in Aveiro reachable on foot. I thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast and dinner each day in the restaurant - great choice of food and drink, all of high quality, which can be enjoyed while overlooking one of Aveiro’s canals. There is also a spa and an indoor swimming pool. I wish I could give five stars instead of four, but unfortunately a couple of minor things let the hotel down. Why do hotel guests need to pay to use the swimming pool, and also pay for a swimming hat? I’ve never come across this in any other hotel I’ve stayed in. Why are there no sun-loungers for use outside? Surely most guests come to a hotel like this to relax for some of the time in the sun. I also thought the elevators were very small and very slow - surely these need upgrading? Overall, I had a great stay, and would have no hesitation booking again if I’m ever back in Aveiro!

we were waiting 2 hours for check in, while I came afternoon on time. Then they told me I can have my room with no pillows or towels as it is not clean and I have to wait for laundry.
The service was totally not professional and bad, really arrogant. Keep away of this hotel.
For location it is not totally in the center so you have to know it's like 15 minutes walking.
And the worse part is that when I got keys to 'my room', I came up and I opened my room and there was another guest there naked!
I came down and it seems like they allocated the same room for couple of guests.
I had to wait 20 more minutes to another room, again with super bad service. After more waiting the manager complained and gave me another room.
I don't know why I stayed, probably because we were too tired after traveling. Tomorrow we will check out and never come back.

Nice hotel, perfectly adequate for staying if you wish to travel around and not just stay in the room.
About 10 min walking along the river you'll find the shopping center and village style main street.
Free Wi-Fi, decent food, free parking available on outside lot.
Swming pool and spa available.
Suitable for business trips or families/couples.
Very good choice overall.
