You do not expect a place like that at the end of the small village Alombada. It is a piece of Eden in Earth thanks to Ken and Sue. And they are like a couple of Angels brought for you : they will sattisfy any of your needs (all home made . honey, jams, bread, wine ... you can take your own fruits early in the morning from the tree ... so, relax.
JUST GO AND SEE !! It is the only way to "taste" it by yourself !

We stayed with Ken and Sue during the end of June, beginning of July of 2014. We were the first Canuck (Canadian) guests they have had. We had quite the adventure finding the place, (to our surprise, the GPS had the small town on it) but the drive up the winding road of Eucalyptus trees led us to a magnificent chalet on the top of a mountain. Ken and Sue, who provided us with a welcome gift basket complete with fresh bread and vegetables, greeted us with open arms. The weather when we got there was not so great. However, our three daughters thoroughly enjoyed the pool and even made a synchronized swimming routine to thank our gracious hosts. Casa Sulo is in a great location with many beautiful places close by including Aveiro, Coimbra, and Buçaco, and is close to sights such as waterfalls, caves, and castles. Our trip was enhanced thanks to the guests who happened to be staying in the adjacent suite. They were a British couple that had stayed at Casa Sulo a couple of times. We clicked with them right away and we spent an amazing Canada Day and the rest of week drinking wine and seeing the sights. We initially had planned to stay only 7 nights, however we ended up staying 4 more nights because we loved it so much. Casa Sulo is a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of life and enjoy the beauty and nature that Portugal has to offer. Thanks again Ken and Sue for a great time! Cheers from Canada eh!
We had a fabulous holiday at Casa Sulo and the kids loved it. We enjoyed nightly strolls around the village and the gorgeous garden. We saw our first ever shooting star and enjoyed ordering food from Ken and Sue. Loved it - thanks for the hospitality...
We have just arrived back from our week stay in casa sulo it truly is breath taking, the scenery and surroundings are so rural and natural you feel so privileged to be part of it. Sue and ken are very welcoming and warm friendly host nothing is too much trouble for them. You are situated in a lovely village at the top of the mountain called alombada were friendly hard working locals live they are all very warm and greated us if we saw them out. The beaches are amazing in avaro as we hired a car we took advantage of trips out to markets and lovely restaurants nothing quite like popping back to your vally at the end of a day tho great stay we shall defiantly be back soon x
When we arrived Ken and Sue gave us a warm welcome and introduced us to the place. We were absolutely happy about the “starter pack “of food, which helped us a lot since the next market is a couple of km away. We enjoyed the fresh bread which Sue baked and we became regular consumers of their vegetables, bread, yoghurt, honey and yam, since they produce it all by themselves and offer it to a very fair price. The place is green and quiet, with a nice view on the eucalyptus hills. In the mornings the sun greets you on the terrace which made breakfast outside very attractive. The house offers everything you need, it is very clean and the kitchen is well equipped. The pool was great, especially the kids spent hours in it, since it was around 30C° warm. There were water toys for the pool which one can grab and other playthings which could be used in the garden. It is a perfect place if you like a quite, green place in the countryside with a good starting point for excursions to the sea (Aveiro), Porto and the surrounding area and its rivers and forests. We really had a fantastic week here and Ken and Sue were wonderful caring hosts which made this week extra memorable!
