Me and my wife went kayaking with kayak Explorers and it was the most exciting tour we could hope for ,from the beginning were they give you all the briefing about safety and the basic paddling techniques till the end,we felt safe at all times .
The views are amazing and the caves are extraordinarily.
But the best was our guide George ,he really made us feel comfortable,he was explaining to all the group the names of the caves and the history of the city ...in several different languages...truly amazing.
If you visit Lagos this is a must ...

We were walking past all of the kayaks and decided on the spot to have a go.
It was great exercise as well as seeing the beautiful landscape. The guides were good, it was a cheaper tour trip with about 20 of us to a group. The service we received when booking was fine. Make sure to keep up with the tour guide if you want to hear what they are saying, you are in open water after all. Definitely a lot of fun, and glad we decided to do it.

Booked online, response was prompt. Arrived and given basic instruction. The guides grasp of English was poor which he admitted from the beginning, which made for a quick and not so easy to understand briefing before departure. It's a 5km Kayak where you beach and can snorkel swim etc for about a half hour before tethering the kayaks in a line and being towed behind the boat back to near the harbour entrance where we had to detach and kayak in.
Stunning views, great way to see the coast but a guide who is a little more knowledgeable about the area, history, geology would go a long way to improving this experience.
Definitely fun and overall I would recommend.

We took an hour long boat tour our first full day in Lagos, and decided we would love an extended and close-up look at the grottos and caves with a kayak tour. This one did not disappoint. Our group had some first time kayakers but all in all, everyone survived and had a fun time!

We have to comment on our guide - Alex. He was so kind and attentive, a great support for those who needed it, and gave us lots of pauses for photos. Made us feel very comfortable and happy with the ride. Could not have asked for a better tour experience during our stay, thanks Alex!

From start to finish this tour was totally awful-worst tour I have ever done, and biggest waste of money. When we got to the stand to go, we had to wait at least 35 minutes before we even left because it was so disorganized and chaotic. No one knew was was going on, not even the staff. The lady at the booth who was organizing the tours was very rude and set our impression of the company as awful from the very beginning. When we got ready to go (finally), we got paddles that were far too short for us because they had too many people going on the tour and so we got awful gear, making the paddling very difficult (and I have done a lot of kayaking). While on the tour, if you weren't directly beside the guide, you couldn't hear anything about what you were seeing. He just talked to the first or second kayaks and the rest of us couldn't hear anything and we're racing to keep up-not very enjoyable to feel rushed the whole time. He also didn't teach any of the people who didn't know how to kayak how to turn or anything so people were crashing into us the whole time. Once we finished "seeing" (for literally 5 seconds each) the caves, we were supposed to go snorkelling. However, they took us to a beach with massive waves, and many rocks and the conditions were not safe. He also said we only had "5 minutes to explore" (probably because of how late we were with leaving) so even if we went snorkelling, we would have only had five minutes. I spent 30 euros on this "2 and a half hour tour" (more like 1 hour and 40), and I have never felt more disappointed. I have never written a review before this- but this was so bad it deserved one. So, all in all, I cannot recommend this company one bit, if your experience is anything like mine, I can guarantee you will also be very disappointed. Try another company such as Ezrider- apparently they are fantastic! The kayaking is a must do- this company is a must don't!

Bruno C, Sorry for your bad experience at Kayak Explorers, responded to this reviewResponded 15 September 2017

I am very sorry for your bad experience i am on the stand, i am never normally rude to clients so i am sorry you feel that way, Sometimes we do have alot on, sorry you felt you didnt get enough attention. I dont need to bore you with my job but i do have to deal with people calling me saying to wait they are late, phones going, diffetent places making mistakes. I need to fix but is never my intention to be rude
We have a certain amount of time in the caves and on the beach, we are not the only ones in the sea, we have motor boats, different kayaks lots people in the sea wanting to see the same thing. As for the time on the beach 5 mins unrealistic. Even if we leave a little late our clients dont lose time.
And Nobody gets bad equipment wether there big or small paddels. Makes not that much of a difference really. As for our guides that is the first thing they do before even entering the water, they give a introduction explaining everything. It is not a rush its just some people have different abilitys so it can effect experienced kayakers such as yourself.
We do our best to keep everyone safe and happy. Im sorry you didnt feel this.
