“Great Weekend Away”
Reviewed 19 December 2012 for a stay in December 2012

Had a wonderful time. Cottage was given to us in a pristine condition with 5 good size bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Open plan lounge, dining area and kitchen which had plenty of room for all 10 of us. The hosts provided us with a catalogue of DVDs, table tennis and hot tub making the stay even more comfortable. Massive gardens and paths to go for walks on. Definitely recommend to a friend.

“Perfect place for mixed age family”
Reviewed 10 September 2012 for a stay in July 2012

We booked about 9 months in advance so that I could celebrate my 60th birthday with my family. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome and at home. The owners and their family live in the same building but completely separated from the guest annexe. They were always available but never obtrusive. My 84 yr old mother stayed in the owners' B&B (in their part of the building) and she found the room with ensuite to be delightful.
The rental property itself was spacious. The rooms are perfectly big enough and 3 bathrooms meant no problems with anyone hogging the bathroom. Large living space, comfy furniture and a good modern kitchen with dishwasher.
The crowning glory was the outside space with table tennis, skittles, climbing frame, pool, hot tub, BBQ (gas) fishpond and maze! The little ones could run around safely and we all had a whale of a time.
Why not 5 stars? A tumble dryer would have been useful and I think the telly should be updated to a wider screen. The utility room is warm enough to dry clothes but a bit smelly with fumes (possibly diesel or oil).
Another slight downside is the location. Very little of interest locally. The broads are famous but quite boring after a few minutes. Bewilderwood is a great adventure park for sub teens and only 20 mins away. The local village Acle is a few minutes drive - a bit too far to walk. Otherwise not much to visit, but the in house entertainment was good compensation! Only visited one pub/restaurant - the Hermitage - it was rubbish!
All in all had a great week and my rating is much nearer 5 stars than 4.
