This museum does not compare to other places we encountered in our travels in the Netherlands and Brussels but it did have a couple of intriguing pieces by Magritte and Bosch. The special exhibit was extensive and thorough but the subject matter (printing) did not interest us much. In the lobby, they allow you to take a free Poloroid selfie with a medieval backdrop and that was really cool!!!

We made two visits - once to an outstanding exhibition about Colard Mansion, a very early printer/publisher of manuscripts, and once to see the paintings. These are very well-displayed, though the 'modern' wing felt like a bit of an afterthought, and one room of Regency-period paintings looked like perfect covers for Georgette Heyer or Jane Austen books.

You wouldn't really visit the museum for these, however, pleasant as they are, but for a wonderful collection of works by some of the greatest stars of fifteenth-century Flemish art - Van Eyck, Memling, Van Der Goes and Bosch, whose single tryptich absorbed me for a long time. For anyone who loves art, well worth the trip.

Some excellent and interesting paintings, you do wonder what was going on in their heads all those years back!! The highlight of the visit, for me, was the excellent and informative exhibition on the writings and illustrations of Colard Mansion. The detail and the words of the audio guide bring the manuscripts to life. I am not a "book worm", however, I lost over an hour in this exhibition listening to the guide and observing the detail of the illustrations and writings. I never realised such writing could hold so much interest with a search for more.

A great way to spend a few hours and if you are not dragged out by your other half you could easily spend half a day in here. excellent!!

Museum good, but current highlight is definitely the manuscripts and illuminations. A privellage to be able to see such a collection, and an inspired audio guide really made the whole visit accessible.

A small museum with a limited number of paintings on view. I hoped to see much more but it is not a large museum The illustrated books and manuscripts were interesting but a little repetitive
