“Lovely House Great Location!!”
Reviewed 11 February 2015 for a stay in February 2015

We all enjoyed our stay and were surprised with how close to the town center we were. The house is on a very nice quiet road and has a brilliant bar opposite with over 150 types of beer. The bar is small and we heard no noise from it while we were there.
Keep in mind that everything is within walking distance and beware of cabs as they often take the long way round. The hotel opposite were very good at sorting trustworthy cabs for us.
From our experience the best places to eat were in the main square so worth the short walk. The very best place to eat is the Rib and Beer restaurant! Look it up, really really worth a visit and don't be shy to try the Chocolate and Beer covered ribs... Amazing!!
The local Irish bar was great for a drink but beware of the local Italian, it was over priced and lacked any taste!!
Choco Story is good fun but don't bother with the chip museum unless you want to know what a potato looks like and how chips are made... they basically stole 20 minutes of my life!!
You must go to Passchendaele, Ypres and The Menin Gate. This special country played host to one of the worst conflicts of the modern age and they do their very best to honor the allied casualties and I must say they do a great job of it, very humbling!!
Bruges is an idyllic city and has so much to offer. There is a huge amount to see and do and we will be back to visit again for sure.

Liked best: The Location was perfect. Couldn't have been any closer to the center of town!
Liked least: There is a distinct bad smell at certain points during the day throughout Bruges, i think this is probably down to the old sewerage system. It isn't awful though and you do get used to it.

“Great location, well equipped and very comfortable - recommend!!”

Lovely house, over three floors. Lounge and kitchen downstairs, with small terrace for smokers and clear instructions on what you need to do re: recyling etc once you leave which came in handy as a reminder. House was always warm and welcoming with security system on the front door rather than keys which was really useful (and saved anyone going home with keys!)

First floor has two bedrooms, we used the front bedroom with the triple bed, and there's a bedroom with a bunk bed and those are big enough for adults. Shower is in the bunk bed room. Sinks in all rooms. There;s a large shower/bathroom and seperate toilet too (another loo downstairs too) Top floor was a double and double with additional single bed which we used as a twin.

Its slap bang in the centre, and parking is close enough (the owners emailed me a pdf map of where to go) easy to get to, and a gift of a bottle of wine to welcome us in. Price is more than reasonable for the quality of the house. The little Christmas decorations were an added bonus and really got us in the mood. Top marks and would hire again!

“Comfortable, well-equipped house in a superb location”
Reviewed 24 September 2011 for a stay in September 2011

This house could not be better placed. Down a quiet side street but round the corner from the central market place, we slept in peace and were also within minutes from the centre so great for exploring. There is a host of good bars and restaurants near the house and parking was not really a problem. You can unload outside the house and drop your car off at the train station for a nominal daily/weekly fee.
The only issue we had was the lack of high chair for our 10 month-old. We were told that a chair was provided but it had neither support nor straps so was unsafe to use. The mattress in the master bedroom was also old and saggy- so bad that one of us had to find an alternative bed. This needs to be replaced.
Finally, it would have been useful to have a floor plan in advance.
The owners are very friendly, helpful and communicative and the one small plumbing issue was solved swiftly.

“Great location for city centre, in quiet side street”
Reviewed 12 June 2011 for a stay in May 2011

Our family of six adults and two children stayed for 4 nights. Large house is over 3 floors, so plenty of space for everyone. Spacious bedrooms, even with childrens beds in them. Most city sights within a 10 minute walk. Train station 20 minute walk, Bus to Train station only 2 minutes walk from house. Ideal for short or long stays. Great value if there is full occupancy of house. We will stay here again if we return to Brugge.
As a bonus there is a quiet beer/wine bar directley opposite, with a friendly and knowledgable ownwer, which closes at 11.00pm each night.
Easy to contact owners who speak excellent English, should you have a query or problem.
We had no problems at all.
