We were four and each ordered very different starters and entres, so we had chance to take little bites to sample many dishes; each was superb. This is a fairly small place and service is quite personal. The proprietress asked good questions about what types of food we liked and made great suggestions and also helped with wine pairings. Everyone loved their dish. We lingered at the table over dessert and after dinner drinks and were never rushed. A true treat.

Sorry but I had to return the plate
The way I react is what some people may have also experienced during your bad days in kitchen and just not saying it in real time

This was our special occasion resto when we lived in Ixelles several years ago, and it didn't disappoint on a return visit.

The menu is Belgo-French cuisine, untouched by fashion or fads. You won't find emulsions, foams or small sharing plates - but you will enjoy excellently executed classic menu items, with portions which satisfy. On this evening, the filet pur de beouf and the cod were outstanding, as were the creme brulee and the ile flottante desserts. The wine list has great choices at reasonable prices too.

Part of the charm is the warm welcome from Madame who has been running the resto for over 30 years, along with its location in an old butcher's shop in a quiet neighbourhood off the beaten tourist path. The ambiance is tres sympa, and the service is formally gracious and friendly.
