I was craving pasta so my husband surprised me and booked a table at 9PM. We’ve been living in Amsterdam for a few years now, tried all Ron Blauw restaurants (some better than others), so we were excited to try this fun concept “tuned” by him. Restaurant is nice and well decorated, there is even a pianist during the whole evening which makes the experience more enjoyable. Staff and service are good. Entertainment along the dinner was a nice touch and make the place lively. There is no a la carte menu so you can only choose between two sets menu (38 & 49). Since we were not that hungry we went for the 38€ one: Anti pasti buffet (on the piano) and a selection of three different pasta dishes. The food was a disaster. Anti pasti buffet was average, with groups of people waiting and lining up to help themselves. People using their hands to pick the food, licking their fingers?! A whole club med buffet experience gone wrong. Then we got served the pasta. We barely touched any of the three dishes. Two of them were drowning in oil, uneatable. The last one was so dry and tasteless that we wondered if there were not leftovers. Now, we could have complained but we didn’t. We just wanted to leave the place and forget about this experience. Bill was 100€ +. Quite a rip off when you haven’t touched the food. Nice staff/service/show but food was terrible . We wont go back and won’t recommend that place.
