This little Indian is not far from Dam square. We didn’t book a table. We just popped in. There was not a table ready but they let us sit a d have a drink while we waited until our table was ready. We didn’t have to wait long. The food was delicious. Plenty of it and we couldn’t finish it all. The staff were very friendly. The price was very reasonable. I would go back definitely.

Of the many Indian restaurants in Amsterdam, this one must be avoided. The place is expensive, food is not tasty and the staff is not friendly. Do not be tempted by its location.....Please

This is not my one –off bad experience…This restaurant is just BAD.

I was reading reviews from other people and figured out that many of the good comments were from local guides.

The only good thing about this restaurant is its location. That’s the only reason I have ended up in Kohinoor couple of times, only to regret later. Never again will make the mistake again. No matter how hungry I am and no matter how bad the weather is..

For those looking for Indian food in Amsterdam near central station,

Try : GANESHA or even GANDHI. Gandhi does not look that nice but food is much better.
MOTI MAHAL is close to centre and serves among the best Alu parathas and lamb Roganjosh in the city. It just a bit expensive..
Other nice places : BOMBAY INN (near Leidseplein, run by a nice Punjabi family); TULSI , SURYA.
For South Indian Food : Sarvana Bhavan

We’re not short of a good many local Indian restaurants at home, and the Koh-i-Noor is every bit as good as our usual favourites. This is a tremendous restaurant, the food is wonderful and the portions hearty. A lovely atmosphere with friendly staff and great service. Altogether a thoroughly great meal and well worth a second visit when we get a chance.

During my Amsterdam trip I came across this Restaurant and thought to give it a try.
Overall I had a good experience.
The food tasted good and quantity was fulfilling. We went for a chicken and a lamb dish and both tasted good. The price seemed reasonable considering Amsterdam and the location of the restaurant which is just a couple of minutes walk from Madam Taussads Museum.
Service and ambience, both are up to the mark. Would recommend it.
