Description: Theatre of fish! The opening of a unique fish concept with great fish of exceptional quality in a theatrical experience. It's a warm, cosy and trendy atmosphere where guests participate in the concept of creating their own meal and picking it up only minutes later at the open kitchen. Guests are able to choose their type of fish at the marketplace where the catch of the day is displayed. The fish are offered at surprising prices that vary based on supply and demand. At the market guests can order tasty side dishes to go with their meal. At the bar you can fill your own bucket with ice cold beers or great wines in order to experience the perfect combination of flavours. One of a kind, a new experience, Pesca is taking fish back to the basics. This is the mission of Pesca. Great Fish. Guests Love. Pesca, Theatre of fish.

Had dinner there in may 2018 together with my wife. The people from the restaurant were very friendly and made an effort to make us feel comfortable right from the start. Buying your own choice of the real fresh catches of the day was very nice to do. There was a great number of sorts of fresh fish available, and we choose the griet as a main course. We had coquilles and shrimps for starters. After making choices for our drinks we were escorted to our table. Very cozy, and very relaxed. Music was not too loud, and choice of music was really great as well. We enjoyed our well cooked meals very very much, great taste of fresh food is really wonderful. Dessert was very well also and the after dinner drinks were exellent. I'm sure we will visit this restaurant again when paying a visit to Amsterdam. We really recommend it for people who are looking to find real quality for reasonable prices in a lovley environment with truly nice staff.

We found it via trip advisor and it was a discovery out of the ordinary touristic routes, but reachable by walk.

At the entrance a fish desk lets you choose for the fish you want, exactly like a fish shop: as soon as the dish is cooked, an alarm alerts you, exactly like Gallina in Turin (read my review) but here menu is not fixed.

The service is very professional and knowledgeable, in spite of the youngness of the very nice girls explaining the fishes, advising you on the best way to cook them, serving the dishes. The fish is not flash frozen, but we tried raw oysters and we had no issue, despite bacterias are not the same as Italy. Everything else was cooked like turbot and shrimps: good sauces like pesto, another made of raspberry & onion, you can also ask not to exaggerate with garlic.

Pricing is aligned to Amsterdam and fresh fish, but here quality drives your dinner and fish was arriving fresh either if it was late afternoon. Goodbye Pesca and see you soon!

We were here for dinner on a weekday and the restaurant was very busy. The concept of the restaurant was interesting and the ambience was lively.
The food was fine but not outstanding. We had fish and chips, shrimps and calamari. The fish and chips were delicious. It was the best dish of the night. The shrimps were quite disappointing. They were not very fresh. The flesh was mushy. The taste of the calamari was a bit blend. The side dishes were very appetising though. You should also try the hangop which is a traditional Dutch dessert. It was surprisingly good.
The service was not the most attentive but the staff was friendly. The prices were a bit expensive for what it was.
The restaurant was very popular so reservation is recommended.

This is a great concept restaurant, that is not simply a gimmick. Everyone in our party of four simply loved the place from the moment we arrived. As you wait to be summoned to approach the "Theater of Fish", you are offered cold beers. If there is a longer wait you can relax at a terrific looking bar. You will then be called to choose your meal. The fish mongers are excellent guides. We chose breem, sea bass, calamari and octopus. We added sides of asparagus, potato and zucchini salad. The mongers will also help with how your fish should be prepared. Then you proceed to an area where you can pick out wines (or beer) for your meal. A very cheerful and helpful sommelier will again guide you. When you arrive at your table you may find yourself at individual tables or longer bench style. Again, the whole idea is to make this a fun, social evening. But all concepts will fall apart without the real deal - the food. This did not disappoint! Your food will come out in waves, similar to a tapas bar, except you retrieve your food by a kitchen area when your buzzer goes off. We were amazed as each dish seemed better than the last. All fresh and perfectly prepared. This is a fun, delicious concept that should last - because you can't wait to go back! I just hope they bring this concept to the US!

Well done, the concept is very innovative and the result is terrific. The service was also excellent. If you like fresh seafood and enjoy to be part of the result, dont miss this.
