We spotted this online before we arrived and had to visit.
First time on a house boat and it was amazing to see the history of that boat.
We where the only ones on it and it was very cheap.
It is a real boat-house with all the furniture inside, so you really feel how it is to live inside that kind of boats. A way of living that I envy but I'm not sure if I could do it since living in a boat leads to a lot of problems related with floods and so...
I love house museums and this is the first houseboat museum I've ever visited. It was great to see how a family might live on a boat, and learn a bit about how they are made and some of the history. Adorable wee place. I felt like this was another museum that was overlooked in tourist info, and we just happened to walk by it one day. It's very near the 9 streets shopping area and that would make a nice afternoon visit. You can even get a coffee here!
I enjoyed this more than the Het Grachtenhuis (Canal House museum). I guess I don't like multi-media experiences!
Only problem was that it was the hottest weekend in August and the boat was very hot inside, I should have taken a sun hat and sunglasses - but the views were good.
Museum Boat or Houseboat Museum( Woonboat museum) or Houseboatmuseum Amsterdam, all three are on the sites of Tripadvisor. But this one has the wrong address. Smits Koffiehuis is a restaurant in front of Central Station
just one galleon there you can walk on and the rest in model boats and black and white photographs , not a patch on the Liverpool Maritime museum :) , but ok if you are into galleons
