Strongly recommend reservations! They just have 6 tables and a healthy number of clientele. The website email booking is very effective. I got a reply in 5 minutes.
Menu is a small one but each dish is a specialty. We particularly liked the eggplant parmigiana, sardines and the lamb main dish.
The tagliatelle ragu was a little heavy but thankfully even though we were very full, we found space for the most delicious tiramisu.
The selection of Italian wines was good and reasonably priced.

Thank you for your feedback,
We are glad to hear that you enjoyed our recent creation and understood our concept.
La Maschera is a small ( 6 tables), authentic, unpretentious Italian restaurant
We provide every day a 9 options menu(3 starters,, 3 homemade pastas, 3 mains) with 2-3 vegetarian options.
Our aim is to replicate in the wonderful Amsterdam , in a friendly, cozy, informal atmosphere the unique specialities and products ( truffle, wine, oil, meat and cheese) which have made a hidden village and situated at the border of Umbria at Tuscany and its stunning valleys, world-known.
Pasta, bread and desserts are homemade every day by our chef.
We use the same recipes and the same suppliers of our Italian restaurant ‘ Lillotatini’.
Kind Regards
La Maschera del Lillotatini

We booked in advance which was just as well as La Maschera is a very popular restaurant. As the other reviews have stated, this is a very small cosy restaurant with a good atmosphere and professional and helpful service. Because there is a small kitchen the menu is a bit limited (and a bit expensive) but it is very authentic and a very high standard and it should still keep most people happy. We shared a platter of salami and cheese with a gorgeous pumpkin jam and then had the slow cooked beef stew/lamb with garlic and tomatoes - both very good, and the Valpolicella Ripassa went perfectly with both courses. For dessert the panna cotta was excellent. Can recommend.

Small place with outstanding homemade food. The pasta with ragu (called bolognese), the liver, the ambiance, the cakes... little paradise in AMS

If you are looking for an authentic Italian meal then you must come here. Home made pastas, local Tuscan specialities and fantastic deserts. The menu is short, but nobody even mentioned that as everyone quickly found something they enjoy. He food did not disappoint. Food as it is made and appreciated by discerning Italians at a standard well above any other Italian restaurant I found here. What do you expect when everyone that works here is a proud Italian. Try any pasta followed by the panna cotta or tiramisu and you will have had a thoroughly great evening in Amsterdam.

My friends and I very much enjoyed our evening at La Maschera. There was a lively but relaxed buzz in the restaurant and the service was excellent. The menu is reassuringly small and we were told it is all homemade on the premises. The food was delicious and we we were all very pleased with our choices. The wine that was recommended was also very good and don't leave without trying the tiramisu! Good value, great food, gezellig!
