My family and I stayed at the apartment for 3 days and 4 nights. The unit is amazing. It's spacious, comfortable and beautifully furnished in a modern style. The bedding and bathrooms are nice. Of course the real beauty is the view from the wide porch overlooking the Lauterbrunnen valley about 1500' below. You can look down toward the valley or across and up to see surrounding peaks. It's breathtaking. Many chalets in Wengen seem to overlook other chalets with a partial view of the valley, but from Veronica the view is completely unobstructed, with just a few quaint chalets on the slope below. The apartment has floor-to-ceiling windows all the way across on the main level, and large windows in the lower level bedrooms too (all facing the scenery). The other great thing is the location. It's about a 3 minute walk from the train station, which is nice if you have luggage or need to go anywhere by train, which we did often to explore the region. It's less than a 5 minute walk to the main shopping area, grocery store and visitor's center in the village. You don't think this is important until you walk there several times a day! Although the train tracks are nearby, train noise is not a problem at all (they are not big trains). We loved having a washer and dryer, since we'd already been traveling through Europe for a week I also liked how Julie provides a guide on the local amenities and also favorite hikes.
We were a family of 4 adults and 3 children staying in Chalet Veronica from July 1 to July 5. The chalet is so beautiful and has 4 very good-size bedrooms and 2 full baths spread over 2 levels. The chalet is fully equipped (beautiful kitchen with lots of dishes& cookware) and furnished, with a deck. When the listing says that the chalet is a short, flat walking distance from the train station - that's completely correct (and useful information if you have luggage!). Julie emailed us often before arrival to provide information about current activities within Wengen. She also sent a very detailed map of how to walk to the chalet from the train station and how to obtain the key (which was very easy). Julie emailed me once we arrived and made herself available for questions and concerns, checking to make sure everything was satisfactory. One comment that I might make: we are from the USA and the stove/oven is an appliance we have never seen before so it was very difficult to understand how to use it (perhaps a typed note about its use placed in the chalet would be helpful). We loved it there and would certainly go back again. Julie, we thank you very much.
Located within the town centre, this apartment is well looked after and has a high standard of facilities.
We had a great time staying here.
