This was an extremely well laid out archeological museum. It was even better than I expected. The history that is presented in such an easy to digest formate -- with models and CGI graphics, all against the "living" unearthed exhibits of excavated relics -- is simply astounding. I have always been a fan of archeological "ruins" or digs, but this was simply one of the best exhibits from information quality to lay out. The audio guide is a must. Do not miss this. It was very easy to purchase an all in one ticket for Tower Tour, the Museum of the Reformation and this Archeological tour. This was a highlight of my time in Geneva.

Amazing work to exhume the many centuries of history beneath the cathedral. Well documented, nicely displayed and very informative audio tour make for a good hour or two being transported into Geneva's past. Possibly a little claustrophobic for anyone with an issue of enclosed spaces.

It is a very large area that you can spend hours or 30 minutes exploring. It goes under the Cathedrale with an audio tour and well marked signage of what you are looking at. Amazing work.

Stumbled on this as the cathedral was not yet opened. Turned out to be the best sight in Geneva. Charts the development of the site from a small church to today's cathedral (Calvin used to preach here) as well as the founding and growth of Geneva (starting from suburb of St Gervais). With the audio guide you can follow several really interesting short videos. Lots of chance to see and touch too. Uncrowded and no queue to get in too! Shhhh!
You can and should get a combined ticket for this, the cathedral and Museum of Reformation (MIR).
