This may have been the best thing we did in Geneva. The receptionist was a little, what’s the best way to put this, ..., hmmm, lazy or uninterested. After we got our ticket we had to ask for the audio tour (a key to the 5 stars), we asked if we could get the audio tour and his response was the equivalent of a millennial, “I guess.”

The tour was very in-depth with synced visual displays that went back to the earliest building in the site. It was succinct, yet complete. If you like to go back in time, this site is for you.

We went to see the beautiful Cathedral and what a surprise they have underneath, the history of so many centuries. It is very well-kept, mint condition and you can see how they did the restoration of the cathedral, it’s amazing ! these people are very professional. The civilized world and culture at its best. Clean and professional. Cathedral visit is free, underneath is 8 francs, towers is 5 francs, we didn’t go up but it’s a beautiful view of lake and city

Discovered this almost by chance as not well signposted; entrance down steps at the side of the main cathedral entrance. Good audio guide; takes a little over an hour and very informative. Fascinating to discover that there were at least three earlier cathedrals on the site. Huge excavation extending under almost the whole cathedral with relics going back to Roman times. even better as it was pouring with rain outside!

This site shows the development of the cathedral from the third century BC until now. It effectively highlights how the site developed, in both Christian and pre-Christian times. The entry fee includes an informative audio tour.

Bof okeyish not outstanding only the fact of seeing the skeleton of an alobroge venerated person from 400 bc that was so venerated even after the roman invasion that the whole cathedral was done over his mausoleum
