Great location. Charming hotel. Perfect service. The contrast of the traditional hotel on the outside with the modern rooms on the inside is a nice touch. Rooms very well redone. I will only stay there again.

OK, this hotel is expensive! But it is five stars. The food is good, both for breakfast and dinner. The restaurant opens at 7.30pm, but the bar serves substantial food early. The wine list is good with several by the glass. They have interconnecting rooms for families, but this makes it quite pricey! The location is ideal for Geneva, opposite the English Garden, close to the old town, and bar/restaurant street on Rue Henri Blanvalet, and a short walk across the bridges into the CBD. It's a cheapish CHF30-35 taxi to GVA airport, and CHF20 (with luggage charge) to the Gare Cornavin. Best of all, the hotel is right at the Metropole bus stop, so you can go anywhere if you have minimal luggage.

We were upgraded to a lake facing Lifestyle room which was very modern and tech-equipped. The highlights were a TV that is part of a free-standing mirror, the shower cubicle which had a hammam feature and the digital hotel guide in the form of a tablet. Service was excellent throughout. Great location for shopping too.

I stayed in the Metropole for 2 nights on a recent business/leisure trip to Geneva, super hotel in a super location. Everything about the hotel worked for me, the room was contemporary, which I liked and balanced well against the more traditional style of the hotel. The restaurant was closed but I had drinks in the bar and breakfast which were both excellent.

We spent 3 nights on our recent visit to the Alps.

One night in December and the other two in January.

The rooms varied greatly between visits but the service remained unchanged - great staff and a grand old hotel in a beautiful part of the city.

The lake view rooms are far superior to the city view rooms in terms if size and decor and if you canafford it the lake view rooms are definately the preferred choice.

Extensive options at the buffet breakfast and the bar overlooking the lake is superb.

Free tram and boat tickets a nice gesture for the duration of our stay. Turn down service very nice too.

All staff very attentive and it was a very pleasant experience.
