La Colonna is a little way from the town centre but there is a bus service from right outside the hotel which takes 5-10 minutes to get you right into the centre of town for a few Euros. We bussed into town (uphill) and walked back most times (15 minutes downhill). The hotel is charming with adequate offstreet parking and a pool area with loungers and umbrellas. There is a nice bar with plenty of cold beer. A lift to other floors but we didn't use it. Our room was very spacious with a king bed and a single, plus a small coffee table and two chairs. TV, aircon (quiet), wardrobe (with safe) and a fridge were included. Bathroom was small, but had bidet, toilet, basin, and bath/shower so no problem. The whole hotel is spotless and very quiet. Continental breakfast was served in the breakfast room. Evening meals can be had in town, but we can recommend the steakhouse across the road from the hotel, and Restaurant Michel (family Italian and good food) 300metres along the road

Special mention for the manager Giordano who was an absolute star. Nothing was too much trouble and he gave 1000% to us. Grazie mille Giordano

Room tip: Ground floor rooms which are really convenient

Whilst located on a main road, there is parking behind the hotel near the pool. Both are most welcome. Never really bothered by the road noise. Rooms are a good size and staff helpful.
The location is great as the 54 Bus leaves from out the front to take you up to old Sienna, the only way to go. Try an early start to beat the crowds. Tickets obtained at the Tabacci Shop near the hotel.
Across the road is the Roadhouse Restaurant that serves burgers, ribs, wings and the like. But, for a very good Italian (pasta and pizza) go up the road to the Taverna opposite the yellow Cini petrol station for an excellent meal. Warning, it does not open till 7.30 of an evening.
The pool was a delight as it was very hot when we were there and had done a lot of walking in Sienna.

Room tip: Rooms at the back, overlooking the pool are obviously a bit quieter.

Cute little hotel, just outside of the centre. Good parking, secure and off street. Friendly, helpful reception staff who suggested where to eat. Bus or walk to the town centre, both easy and convenient. Rooms are bright, clean, nicely decorated and large. Bathroom a little cramped. I would suggest some thicker curtains so that the sun doesn't wake guests too early. Breakfast is typical sweet Italian options. The pool is small but has a lovely setting.

Room tip: Ask for a view of pool.

Nice hotel witihin walking distance from the city center. Good to have a pool in the summer time !!
Nice an big bath rooms. The only thing I think is missing is to have breakfast buffet which is more than sugar, cakes and coffee. Well, well... also some cereal and youghurt. But I think this is just the italian way. It would, however really differ if you could get some nice and filling bread and not just a white toast and a lot.

Surprisingly good surroundings with a ice cream bar, a small pizzaria with pizza slices and other finger food and a shop supermarket.

All in all a good choice if you want to have a swimming pool during a summer visit. Private parking for free - also good !!

Room tip: Rooms towards the swimmingpool is probably more quiet than the ones facing the road

This is a basic, but clean hotel with helpful staff, good parking and a pleasant pool area. Breakfast Ok, nothing special. Our twin room ( 108) was an odd shape with a clean but tiny bathroom. It is a very steep 45 minute walk into Siena, 30 minutes back , downhill. The bus stops right outside but last bus is about 8.30 pm. There is a good American style restaurant opposite which makes a nice change from pizza/ pasta, but not a lot else, no bars or other restaurants nearby.

Room tip: Quieter at back but twin rooms next to lift are odd shape.
