I wanted to treat my wife to something special for our 25th Wedding anniversary so after weeks and weeks of research selected Monterzi 4 in Montisi. I was looking for romantic seclusion, beautiful views over the Tuscan countryside, a pool, but not a shared pool. I did not want to be in a villa co-located with the owner, I wanted remote seclusion. But I also wanted to be able to walk in to the local village and enjoy the local restaurants. A lot to ask I understand, which is why it took me weeks of research, but I found it all in Monterzi 4.
Marina the owner could not be more helpful, and did everything in her power to ensure we had a special time. She was always just a text away. She provided a bottle of wine and Tuscan biscuits on our arrival as a gift, and the following day brought us a cake she had baked.
We had a great time and loved sitting on the veranda having dinner and watching the sun set. We took in a little wine tasting at the local vineyard in Trequanda, arranged for a local chef to teach us how to cook a typical Tuscan meal, which the chef then served us as we watched the sun set. We asked him to joins us but wanted us to enjoy the moment, while he did the dishes.
Monterzi 4 is a great place to relax and be yourself.
We cant wait to come back.

“Perfect holiday cottage in Tuscany”

We had a wonderful week at this lovely little villa for four people. It is very peaceful and totally private, full of character and has the most INCREDIBLE views across Tuscany. We also loved the old hill top olive grove and all the old fruit trees in the grounds surrounding the little winding drive up to the house. Marina the owner is the loveliest person. The pool is also perfect. You can walk into Montisi if you want and road access is easy to the wider area, Sienna to the north, Pienza to the south . It is quite simply a perfect 'holiday cottage' in Tuscany.

“Perfect Villa in the heart of Tuscany for a family of four.”
Reviewed 15 August 2016 for a stay in July 2016

I have added some photos to help find the place. It's off the beaten track but that makes it all the more wonderful. The host Marina in wonderful. We were met with wine from their vineyard and olive oil from their groves. She gave us some Italian biscuits on arrival and baked us a cake during the week.
The villa is ideal for a family of four. The pool is bigger than the photos suggest. The rooms are light and airy. It's on split floors and may be difficult for disabled people to access.
The views are spectacular and breath taking.
Montisi is small village but has everything one needs if self catering as we were. Eating outside the villa at breakfast and sunset was sublime.
It's clean and tidy and the pool is maintained every other day by the host. Quite wonderful.

This renovated stone villa sitting up on its own hilltop was just perfect for experiencing the essence of Tuscany. Thank you , Marina, for being so helpful. The kitchen was well equipped and the house clean and well cared for. The wifi was good. There were many hilltop towns around us to visit , some like Pienza are famous, others are untouched and well worth a visit. Or just sitting on the logia looking out over the spectacular unimpeded views and socializing was amazing.

“A view you could never tire of. Heavenly.”

We are just coming to the end of our two week stay in Montisi in Monterzi 4. No words can adequately describe what a wonderful villa this is. It's position high above the village had the most incredible 180 degree views that have to be seen to be believed. The owner, Marina, visits regularly early in the morning to water plants and clean the pool. She is charming and very kind, baking us a cake and offering to cook us an Italian meal one evening. The villa is charming and has a fantastic pool. The lovely old towns we have visited have all been truly magical - Montepulciano, Pienza, Montalcino, Siena, San Gimignano to name a few. It was also just a short drive to Lake Tresimeno, again a lovely visit. We are sad to be leaving here and cannot give full justice in words to how wonderful this Villa and this part of Tuscany is.
