We were very happy with our stay at Santa Chiara. When we checked in, we had a choice of a large room with no view or a tiny room with a gorgeous view. We chose the latter. The room was quite small (and the walls were a little thin), but it was on the top (2nd) floor and had a large terrace overlooking the pool and the Tuscan countryside. It was probably the most amazing view we've ever had. We paid for a dedicated private parking space (easy parking--right in front of the hotel) and appreciated the easy 10-minute walk into San Gimignano. The front desk staff were extremely helpful in answering all of our questions and making dinner reservations for us. If you're willing to have a small room with an incredible view, ask for room 203. The breakfast is very good, the pool area is lovely, and the hotel and San Gimignano are absolutely charming.

Room Tip: Room 203 is small but has a fantastic view.

We spent 7 nights at this spotless little hotel and enjoyed it very much. It is situated only 10 minutes walk from the walls of San Gimignano with all its good restaurants, bars & shops. It has a great pool with plenty of sunbeds. Our room was overlooking the pool and beautiful surrounding countryside. The staff were great and very helpful especially Elisa on reception. A great base for exploring Tuscany and well recommended. Parking at the hotel is limited so it is worth paying to reserve a space.

We wanted to stay close to San Gimignano and found a room at the hotel for one night. The location is OK and in walking distance to the old town, the garden good and the welcome from the reception staff good. Then they did show us to our room. It was like being locked in a basement. It was unbelievable small (which you could cope with) but there were no windows to open.
Rooms that shouldn‘t be given out in a four star hotel.

We have been many times to San Gimignano during the day but whenever we will be back to stay for a night, this is definitely not the place to come back.

Just as advertised - superb location, lovely staff - very helpful and friendly - excellent rooms and good food. The gardens and pool are delightful and only a short walk from the town centre. We went to Florence by bus - great fun! The crowds of tourists dissolve by early evening and San Gimignano reverts to a charming village with super restaurants , very competitively priced. We loved the whole experience! Go if you can!
