This museum is located in a quiet residential street 5 minutes walk from the Grand Palazzo Hotel.
The ground floor rooms are beautifully decorated. The ceilings are stunning.
Upstairs you will find the most amazing art work. Some of the work is breath-taking.
The staircase is one of the most interesting I've ever seen.
We found the staff helpful particularly the guy upstairs who explained a little about the art work. (Unfortunately we did not have sufficient time to take advantage of the audio guide).
The parkland next to the museum is also worth a look. It is a quiet oasis, lovely to sit, relax and listen to the birds singing.
Next to the museum, there's a small fountain where there are some terapins. It's nothing special to look at but we found it cute.
I'd recommend a visit to this museum, you won't be disappointed.

This old mansion does not look like much from the outside, but the beautifully appointed rooms on the ground and first floors was something else. Go for the house, and the paintings inside were a plus. We spent a fair amount of time in each room, just admiring the finishes and the paintings. The museum caretakers were friendly and a gentleman even gave us a running commentary on the rooms and the art. Worth a visit.

Tucked away in a quiet street in the south end of this attractively gritty city which is superficially devoid of cultural attractions is this lovely villa. The interior alone is worth the visit. Downstairs are three lushly over decorated gems of rooms, plus a staircase with white ceramic putti as stair rails. Ok, perhaps the art is for coniscenti but it is the birthplace of Modigliani, who is represented by an early landscape -no elongated nudes here. Oh yes, a reduction for us over 65 oldies.

This museum is small enough to go through thoroughly in an hour. All signs are in Italian, so I probably should have got the English audio headphones. The tiny animal sculptures and jewelry from the Etruscan period feature such contemporary simple shapes--still very appealing. And who knew that the Etruscans had safety pins for fastening their garments?

Lovely old villa set in mature nice parkland. The rooms are opulent and each with a very interesting and varied collection of art ranging from Impressionism to Modernism. Helpful and interesting guides. So under publicised perhaps because of proximity to Pisa & Florence. Only 4 euro entry
