“A stay to remember”
Reviewed 9 March 2016 for a stay in February 2016

As this was not my first time in Florence, I consider myself so lucky for the choice of accommodation. Traveling with a dear friend, we chose two suites connected by a small common entrance lobby, Aloe and Adenia. The suites are furnished and decorated in an exquisite eclectic style that suits our sense of aesthetics and fits the grandeur of a city like Florence! We were actually taken aback by all the amenities included, the mix of modern and historic and the attention to every detail!

In Adenia suite, the bathroom had all the modern fixtures one may require, like a generous shower enclosure with a rain shower head, heated towel rail and space for all my toiletries and cosmetics. The suite is a happy stylistic marriage of well preserved historic details, like the exposed -centuries old- brick wall reminiscent of the rich history of the city, and modern, practical elements. There was a separate bedroom area with a large double bed. The linen was excellent, while the mattress topped with memory foam made the sleeping experience the best ever! Closet space was also abundant even for a much larger group. The pretty living area had a comfortable sofa bed so two extra persons could be accommodated. In one corner, the cutest kitchenette with a mini fridge (to preserve the great local wine), induction hot plate (in case you feel like bringing home some fresh pasta for an impromptu dinner), electric kettle (for that cup of tea in an afternoon break from shopping). The beautiful antique round table, in front of the window, became our morning breakfast nook from where we loved to schedule each day, thanks to the internet access in the suite.

The most remarkable aspect of both the suites, however, is their location: literally a 3 minute walk for the central train station of Santa Marina Novella, it was very easy to find. The neighborhood is far from touristic but rather a colorful, residential area with ethnic corner shops, a fresh pasta workshop down the same street, a bicycle repair shop, a old cinema hall etc. Staying there gave me a taste of the everyday life in Florence. The suite was just a 5 minute walk from the Arno promenade which leads to the famous bridge of Ponte Vecchio, the Galleria degli Uffizzi museum, the Palazzo Pitti museum, a 10 minute walk from the Duomo with its world renowned dome and the maze of breathtakingly beautiful little alleys with shops and galleries around it. Another gem of the city that was within a 5 minute walk from the suite, was the central open market where you can find all the foody treasures Tuscany has to offer on the ground floor, and taste them cooked in the loft above the market where numerous counters offered everything from a slice of pizza to a juicy bistecca fiorentina (just ask your host for indications).

To make a short story short, the suite with its ease of access, the proximity to all central sites and the train, its comfort and elegance is a perfect fit for the travelers who want to experience the city as locals in a cozy environment.
