“Across from Marcato Centrale and a short walk from train station”
Reviewed 10 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

I stayed here with my husband and college age children for four nights. This apartment is a short walk-able distance from the train station, and around a 15 to 20 minute walk max to all top sites, some that are closer. The apartment has two decent size bedrooms and two full bathrooms, an appreciated luxury for the four of us. In the steamy 99 degree heat of Florence, we were ecstatic that the living room and each bedroom had individual air conditioning units that worked quite well. One of the A/C remotes did not work but all the units and remotes were compatible with each other so there was no issue. (Note that you will be paying separately for all the electricity that you use.) The dining table is located in the living room and opens up to seat six. There is no real view to speak of. The little windows in the bedroom look out on the wall of another building, and the front windows overlook the Central Market, not very scenic but interesting if you want to people watch for a bit. We spent very little time in the apartment but every morning we made use of the fantastic market to bring back food for breakfast. We also had a dinner in one night. There is only one couch (very comfortable) in the living room that seats three. The other seating options are straight backed dining room chairs (two that are cushioned). Not an issue for us because we did not spend too much time in the apartment except to sleep, but it would have been uncomfortable for the 4th person had we spent several hours lounging around the apartment. A few things to note: In regards to the kitchen supplies, this was the least stocked of all apartments we rented during our travels through Italy, where we were used to being provided at minimum liquid hand soap, paper towels, adequate dish detergent, even olive oil which was always a nice surprise. Here there were only 5 forks (!!), and the dishing washing liquid was almost completely depleted so we added water so we could keep washing the forks. Only one detergent pod was provided for the dishwasher and we intended to save it for our night before check out. The dish count was fine though, and there was a frying pan and a couple of pots but no cutting board that we could find anywhere. if staying here, I would simply recommend requesting that at minimum the basic supplies be at provided for the length of time you are there. Communication with Giuseppe was great, he was very responsive and provided clear explanations. The day we were to arrive he emailed that the apartment manager would not be able to meet us until an hour and a half after we were to check in. Because all our trains ran late and we missed every connection, we were actually later than that, and she sent her husband to let us in, and then her son Emmanual came shortly thereafter to check us in. He was very personable and spent a lot of time mapping things out for us which was appreciated. However, his father had taken the second set of keys with him, and we did not receive them the next day as promised, which was somewhat inconvenient, but Giuseppe had them dropped off the day after once we contacted him. Important for those who have trouble with stairs: This is a steep four story climb to the apartment on a narrow set of stairs. We are physically fit but it would be difficult for those who are not.

“Good”
Reviewed 19 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

Good Location. The apartment is on the 3rd floor, so be prepared for the climb. Emmanuel received us at the apartment and helped us with our bags. He even brought us a bottle of wine, which was a pleasant surprise. Thanks Emmanuel!
The apartment is very spacious, and close to restaurants, and all the historic sites.

“Great place”
Reviewed 6 May 2015 for a stay in April 2015

Rented with a couple of friends in mid April 2015 for 7 nights. Great location, spacious apartment and reasonable price. Many restaurants and market just steps away. Owners are easy to reach and quick to respond. Be aware there isn't an elevator in the building, it makes for a good exercise but think twice if you have older travelers in the group.

“A home in Florence”
Reviewed 1 November 2014 for a stay in October 2014

No strangers to Florence, we wanted a bolt-hole this time that gave us the freedom a hotel would not. The San Lorenzo apartment - directly across from the Mercato Centrale - proved to be just that. From a friendly welcome to our departure a week later, the apartment proved comfortable, spacious and well equipped. Its been recently refurbished so it's fresh and new, and the glazing keeps out all but the most persuasive noise from the piazza below. Access to all the major monuments and museums is simple with none of them more than a few blocks away, and if after a long day the steps up to the apartment seem steep, once you are inside you can properly relax. The piazza below is lined with restaurants and bars, and the market has everything you will ever possibly need if you decide to stay in and cook. We loved our week here and if you are thinking of booking the apartment for yourself, you can do so in the knowledge you will be making the right choice.

“Facility nice, but didn't return promised property.”
Reviewed 13 October 2014 for a stay in August 2014

The apartment was nice, except that we stayed on the 3rd floor - lots of steps. My biggest complaint is that I left some jewelry in a drawer in the apartment. I called right away and gratefully they found it. They promised they would send it to me. I was thrilled. I thought, how nice. It gave me a very good feeling about their honesty and responsibility. That was six weeks ago. I have repeatedly emailed them and they have given me one excuse after another as to why they have not mailed me my property. I even offered to send a postage paid envelope so they could just drop it in the mail. No response. If I do receive the jewelry, I will be happy to write a glowing review.
