The staff was helpful and attentive. The room was lovely. We had a comfortable king size bed, there was a wardrobe with a safe and a minibar but not much drawer space. Nice bathroom beautiful linen hand towels but we were confused about the showering situation- tub with a hand-held shower head, but no shower curtain...
The two best features of the hotel were the sumptuous breakfast buffet- every option under the sun and wonderful service and the rooftop terrace with a canopy, tables and chairs. You can bring a drink from the bar or, as we did, bring your own bottle of wine and meet fellow guests.

Dear Guests,
we are so happy to read that you had such a nice stay at our Hotel Berchielli and that you found our buffet breakfast to be “..sumptuous..”.

The rooftop terrace on 4th floor is ideal to relax having a chat, reading a book, having a drink or simply enjoying the sun.

I will inform all staff of your compliments.

Kind regards.

This is a very nice hotel with an excellent location. It is walking distance from most of the famous attractions in Florence. They have a very good breakfast buffet in the morning. The rooms are clean and they have the old key system that I love in Europe (you drop off your key when leaving and pick it up from the front desk when you get back).

Access to cabs and other transport is right out the back door.

I enjoy running in the morning, and this hotels location allowed for a very nice circle loop around the El Duomo, through the Piazza Vecchio along the Arno, up to the Piazzale Michelangelo, back down to the Arno and across the Ponte Vecchio.

I wanted to be in a great location, in a nice but not over the top Italian hotel and we were. On the Arno river, 10 minutes walk from the Duomo, Uffizi, Pitti Palace and Santo Spirito - perfect. A nice size hotel with a wonderful breakfast. My grand daughter was delighted with a different design in her Cappucino each morning. Rooms were perfectly Italian, on the small side and immaculate. Our window opened on a small piazza and from the second floor we had a perfectly delightful seat for a Scottish wedding, bag pipes, kilts and all taking place in the adjoining church. I am a travel agent and will definitely recommend this hotel to my clients.

Dear Guests,
thank you for your nice comment.
It makes us all very happy to know that our Hotel Berchielli “..met and exceeded..” your expectations.
I will inform the breakfast staff of your appreciated compliments as they all really put a significant effort in trying to make our clients happy and they show to be proud of their job when clients reward them with such nice words.

Cleanliness is always carefully monitored by our housekeeper and your word “immaculate” tell us that she is doing a good job.

The little church of SS Apostoli is often chosen for weddings but we must admit that the one you mention was impressing as we had many guests dressed with the typical “Scottish kilt”.

Thank you so much for recommending us to your clients!

Looking forward to welcome you in the near future.

Kind regards.

The view from the hotel is amazing, the location is perfect as it is near to all the "must see" of the town and although it is really in the heart of the town, it is very quite. The service and the staff at the reception was very friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable and clean, and the breakfast also good. it really was the perfect place to return to after walking all day around the city!

3 star hotel + 5 star view = 4 stars

We needed a room spontaneously in Florence due to train schedules. We were lucky enough to book at the Hotel Berchielli. The rooms were clean; the staff was friendly; and the breakfast was very good.

We hadn't known what to expect given our last minute planning, but the front desk man gave us a little smile and a wink and told us to be sure to open the windows in the room. WOW, did we score a view!

Drawbacks were that the room decor was somewhat odd. We'll take the cleanliness! The furnishings were old enough to feel dated, but not old enough to feel charming. The wifi was free but somewhat cumbersome to access.

For a mid-range hotel, this would be hard to beat, I suspect. Ask for a view.

Room tip: Ask for a view of the Ponte Vecchio!

Dear Guests,
We are pleased you liked the cleanliness, the staff and our full buffet breakfast.

We are sorry not being able to agree with you with the words “ 3 star hotel”; the design of our newly refurbished rooms reflects the Florentine style and even if we accept the fact that not everyone may like it, it is hard to accept the word “dated”.

We fully deserve our 4 star rating.

Best regards.
