Perhaps on the second rank of tourist options in Florence, this is certainly worth a visit. Museum includes an amazing great hall and the rooms where the Medici family used to reside. Queues here for the museum are relatively short.
However I strongly recommend avoiding the tower. They have a ludicrous system where hardly anybody is allowed up , despite the fact that the viewing area is nearly empty. As a result there is a long queue which moves very slowly. In addition, at the top, the sides are roped roped off, so you cannot really see that much.
If you’re looking for views go up the bell tower (Campanile) of Florence Cathedral (Duomo) , or across the Arno to the beautiful Piazzalo Michaelangelo
