Don't miss this! No need for a guided tour. Tickets can be purchased day of just for the Palazzo. No lines and inexpensive! All of the rooms are spectacular and so are the views of Florence. Filled with incredible art and beauty. I like to refer to this as hidden Florence bc everyone else is waiting on the line at the Duomo!!! My hubbie is recovering from a broken leg....museum has elevators and wheelchairs at no charge...wonderful!!

Palazzo Vecchio has a lot of history, and the city hall/centre is worth a tour to get some interesting history and see some impressive art. Would you expect the Medici's to not live in opulence? It's not a lot of money, and the tour isn't that long. But if you've got the time and have already hit the Florence highlights, drop in and enjoy.

This museum is one of the main drivers of the beauty of Florence. It tells you the history, and has great artwork inside and outside. Don’t skip this one..

Not by chance is Florence the City of Art. Here is the palace you can find a lot of art work from the best Italian masters. Statues, paintings, frescos, whatever you want. It takes a lot of time to discover all.

Frommer’s recommended this museum for high quality children’s tours of Florence, and it even exceeded expectations. We took the excellent Medici Family tour in English on July 4, with other adults and kids about ages 10 and up. The engaging guide taught us about the family (men and women) and its history ruling Florence and showed us the fresco covered palace, including secret passageways, a private balcony, and a map room with maps of the known world of which North America was barely part. I would highly recommend this museum to any adult and even more highly to anyone with kids. They do tours for younger children as well, in English and other languages.
