We should have reserved tickets-but didn’t. We asked a rather official looking person how long the wait was to get in-and got talked into a group tour to “skip the line”.

We still ended up waiting in line and it was frustrating to try to move through the museum in a group of 25 people. We ditched the guide after 10 minutes (gave him back the headsets) and enjoyed the rest of our visit. I would reserve tickets in advance or wait in line (only ask the official staff in the green shirts what the wait time is-the people in the more official looking white shirts with red arm bands and “tour force’ patches are just tour sales people. It the line is too long -skip it and go to the Galileo museum just a block away. (It is excellent and not crowded.)

Perhaps is the most important museum / place to visit in Florence. No queue , but it was February ! 3-4 hours for staying there minimum !!! So many things to see that is hard to say to skip a room ! They have a cafeteria ( very expensive ... ). When you leave, in just 3-4 minutes don`t miss PONTE VECCHIO !

The building itself is art and history, let alone the art within. The corridors and ceilings are gorgeous and well arranged. It is easy to find and can occupy you for as little as an hour or for days.
