This is a great place to relax but still see a lot in the little hill towns in the area. The accommodations were complete with a great kitchen and well furnished bedrooms.
The caretaker stopped by regularly to check up on the facility and to find out if we had any problems.
We loved the countryside and the views as well as the ease of getting there by car. Shopping was close at hand as well.
We stayed here the second week of June. There were four couples, no children, and the villa met all our expectations. Each room was lovely, nicely appointed, and everyone had their own private bath. There were extra beds that could have accommodated five more persons, but they would have had to share bedrooms and bathrooms. Lighting could be improved, but that is my only negative comment. The villa has a great view to the south, and for the energetic it's only 1.2 miles from Cortuna, mostly uphill. The kitchen facilities were excellent, and we prepared breakfast each morning and several dinners. We hired a chef to prepare a four course meal for us one night, and give us cooking lessons on another night. Two excellent, fun meals. The one-lane road to the villa only gave us problems with opposing traffic on a couple of occasions. This makes a great base for visiting the southern hill towns in Tuscany (there are four just a short drive away), these in my opinion are the best towns to visit in Tuscany, and not loaded with tourists.

A lovely 600 year old farmhouse that has been lovingly restored and beautifully decorated in a cozy style. We were 4 couples and the house was plenty big with private space and bath for each couple. We loved the views from the patio and pool where we spent most of our time. We felt very at home during our week there and wish it had been longer. It is a very convenient location for visiting the hill towns. We loved visiting some of the less visited towns that weren't overflowing with tourists but Siena is close by and Florence 1 1/2 hours by train. We would stay at Principessa again.
