This apartment is every bit as good as the photos. It amply met our two main needs - a large outside space and a location near enough the centre of Taormina to be able to walk. The absolute highlight is the pleasant garden terrace, which is amazingly spacious with a lovely view of the sea, and a mix of sunny and shady areas for sitting, eating, and sunbathing. The view does also look down on the main carpark but it's easy to ignore this. All the main rooms open on to the terrace and are nicely furnished. The two bathrooms and kitchen are also very adequate, and we appreciated the good supply of basic provisions like coffee and tea, and fresh herbs from the garden . The owners who live next door gave us fresh grapes from their vineyard, and told us where the local market is for very cheap fresh food. We ate in quite a lot since it was so nice to sit on the terrace - and Taormina prices are high.
The walk to the centre of Taormina is a pleasant 10 minute stroll. There's lots to see and do there, so we didn't venture much farther afield that week except for a day's trip up Etna - well worthwhile on a clear day.
